I think I have a problem with my motherboard? I'm not sure where to point the finger to be honest.

Friday, I swapped out my Zotac 560 for a MSI 560 TI 448. Uninstalled the driver in Windows, went into safe mode and cleaned the driver out with driver sweeper. That was the only hardware change made.

Yesterday morning/afternoon I move my computer in the living room so I can game on the 50" tv. Everything is fine. I play some BF3, Skyrim, Trackmania, and experienced nothing unusual.

That night I move my computer back to my room. I go to shut down, the computer shuts down normally. Move it the 30 feet into my room, plug everything back up, hit the power button, walk out the room and return and notice a blue light in my case (the cpu phase lights; I turned them off since my lighting is red). Long story short, my BIOS reset itself, and is sitting on the first boot "press [F-key] to enter Setup". So I go into Setup, and put all the values back to how they should be.

Save and reboot, and Windows won't boot. Run start up repair and it tells me there's a driver error. Skip several minutes of trying to fix Windows using either the recovery drive/install disc. I've since reinstalled Windows.

Anyone have any clue WTH is going on here?

The computer is POSTing, I can access the BIOS without issue. Tell the BIOS to go to the Windows startup manager, etc. The startup manager flashes a blue screen (too quickly to see what) and hangs with a rapidly blinking horizontal cursor.

I would just think it was an issue with Windows not properly saving something, except for the fact that the BIOS reset itself. Did I just somehow get two issues simultaneously?

Did you update the firmware on that SSD?
Can you install Windows 7 in trial mode on another hard drive?
What happens when you reset CMOS?
Did you make sure that SATA mode is set to AHCI and not IDE?

I have updated to fix the BSOD bug.

I can. The computer is currently working though. That's part of the reason I'm having such a problem troubleshooting. I don't know how to recreate the issue and start eliminating things.

Haven't tried that.

I did. Both on the initial set up as well as when it came back up from the reset.
 
Hmm. Well keep using the PC as normal. However whenever the PC acts up, write down or note what exactly you were doing with the PC before the issues occur. Repeat until you've see the PC exhibit the same issue three or more times. Then report back if you can't figure out a pattern to the occurrences.

Or just swap the video cards and see what happens.

Aye aye Captain. Unfortunately I can't swap the video card since I've already shipped the old card back.

Figured it couldn't hurt to tap the hive mind and see if this was something someone has already experienced.

Google turned up instances where one or the other happened, but never both at the same time.
 
A bit more info. This time Windows had no problems with booting.

The motherboard reset itself again. This was after sitting unplugged for about 2-3 hours. Initially it said there was no HD, but after setting it to AHCI mode, I got into Windows just fine.

I'm thinking this is a problem with the CMOS battery. This is odd IMO because this is almost literally a brand new motherboard. I bought it in the middle of December.

Anyway, unless someone suggest something free (ie config errors), I'll buy a replacement battery, swap it out, and see if that solves the problem. Should there be anything special about the battery I use to replace it, or should any same model battery be fine?
 
While moving, did you by any chance hit the reset CMOS button on the rear i/o panel?
Did you check for anything that may be causing a short?
It sounds like moving it caused your issue, but it could've been the vidcard swap as well.
