CNN has an article posted today on computer hacking for 8-year-olds. Believe it or not, this is not an article detailing the inner workings of a training camp for Anonymous. :D

For the second year in a row, Def Con organizers included a full schedule of Def Con Kids programs for beginner hackers ages 8 to 18. The children and teens, who must be accompanied by a parent, learned how to pick locks, competed to find the most bugs in mobile apps and learned about digital forensics by investigating a mock crime scene in a hotel room. Some skilled young hackers also taught classes and gave talks.

Of course it isn't, because it covers actual security and not retarded DDoSing that the braindead media calls hacking.

I taught myself to pick locks many many years ago when I was around 15 to break into my parents liquor cabinet! All you need is something to torque and something to push the pins. I can do 3 or 4 pins quite quickly to this day, anything more and its a bit more of a battle.

They actually had a lot of kids this year, really it's just a great way to have fun with your kid and learn together. That's how we raise the next generation of hackers and tinkerers, something that we can never have enough of.

I thought this year they had some really good talks, I had a lot of fun.
