Hey guys I'm pretty sure that I'm no the only one that is sort of obsessed over CLEAN and orginized computer desks. I have been searching LONG and HARD for a nice CORNER or L shaped desk. Somthing glass and metal or glass and wood. Or really anything thats under $300 that looks modern and nice. Let me know if you have any good suggestions or Post pics of your desk and where you got it. Only L shaped or Corner desks please. Unless you have the ULTIMATE [H]ard desk setup.

**this is not a post your computer setup. Just how your deks is arranged in your office or house. tHanks!

Who knows if all works out this could become a good picture thread of different desk setups and options.
 
I have no Idea of what your talking about. I searched for threads and 2 threds came up with a total of 14 posts. NO info whatsoever. I might have used a bad search text or somthing but if thats what your inclining then MY BAD.

haha...don't worry about it...SarverSystems is referencing something totally different.
 
look for a used office furniture store as you can save mucho $$$ on killer desks. also, this sounds soo dumb, but try garage sales. You would not believe the excellent desks I have seen for under $50 at a garage sale, not to mention the absolute garbage ones too.

Yea garage sales are the ish! Or whats even better is Estate sales. Estate sales are when like old people unfortunatly die and they basically just sell EVERYTHING in the house. EVEN the house. Thanks for all your advice. I saw this one desk at staples it was like 90 bucks and it looked pretty tight. it was an L shaped desk it was pretty sick specially for the price. It didnt even look cheap and it was pretty sturdy.
 
I like garage sales and estate sales. I look for the beat-up pieces of furniture that not many people look at, then I buy 'em for cheap and fix them up at home. Then I either give them away to friends or donate them through my church. Something fun to do and it doesn't eat the pocket book up.
 
This might be closer to what you are looking for.

When I first moved into my house I was looking for an L desk as well, but could find NOTHING close to the size/style I was looking for. Just by chance I saw that work was throwing away 3x4 foot 1 inch thick metal signs (sheet metal over wood). Here's what I ended up with

My Desk

Desk is 8 foot by 11 foot. I purchased the legs at the Container Store. KB drawers (have been changed since this pic) are Pine covered in chrome contact paper purchased at Lowes, KB drawer railes are just 150lb test drawer railes purchased at Lowes.

Total cost for me was about $250 to make the desk, however if you where to purchase the sheet metal/wood on your own I'm sure the cost would be much more.

If you guys want I could take some more shots of the desk (clean up a little too eh). Yes, the walls are white, don't bother :p The paint is sitting on the ground waiting for me to get too it. Art is my Wifes, there is one more of the Acrylic covered paintings you can't see in this pic..
 
Yea in that thread theres a few desks that are pretty kool. I want somthing that is glass but I think it might be bad for fingerprints and dust and what not. Any opinions? Also that link you gave me doest work for the picture of your homade desk...
 
You could always hope down to menards, buy a few power tools, spend the rest on materials and build a much larger desk for cheaper than you could buy it, plus you could design it exactly how you want.
