Please can somebody give me some advice as to this system... thank you

For a TV card, I'd probably go with something from Lifeview (Flyvideo), but meh.

If you plan on adding PVR functions in the future, please don’t get that card!

Yes a pvr-150 retail costs twice as much (~$90), but works ten times better and you can look for a rebate.
It comes with remote and IR blaster. It can be used with all the major PVR apps like GB-PVR, SageTV, etc.

If you are buying this for the cool light scribing feature, remember you need special disks for that and the scribing is slow as hell. You can save some money buying a the highly rated NEC 3540a for ~$40 bucks.
