I remember them well. Also Computer City. And "computer shows", a weekend trade swap like radio swap (hamfest) that really went downhill after the internet became mainstream in the mid-late 90s. Being on the east coast we never had Fry's.

This is indeed an epic necropost. I still have my computer I bought from CompUSA circa 2000 hanging around. Single core P4, got it up to 1gb of ram, and cleaned it out from all the dust a few years ago.
