I just (a couple of hours ago) completed a P6701 WU and did not appear to get a bonus. I got 931 points with a run time of just under 16 hours (HFM was predicting over 5K points,) Is this normal? Is anyone else experiencing this after the server issues?

Did you have a passkey typed into the client?
Have you finished 10 prior SMP A3 WU?

yes and yes, I have been getting bonuses from other A3 WU's with the SMP client. The WU just before did get a bonus. (I have 19 WU's completed with the SMP client.)

This was a "restart in the middle of a WU, since I installed Windows updates today. Maybe that had something to do with it, but it has not appeared to be an issue before.

Double check your config file and make sure that your pass key is actually in there. I had a problem today after a forced restart where my config files got corrupted.

the passkey is in the config file. passkey found messages are in the log. However, I don't see the initial messages for the unit execution for the initial frames. (I Ctrl-C'ed out to apply Windows updates.) Maybe something glitched in the shutdown of the earlier run.

Well, it looks like it happened to me, too. My machine completed a 6701 earlier today and I didn't get the bonus.

Good find. Well, I guess all we can do is wait for them to fix it.

Is this happening to everyone on 6701?

Im assuming I have been getting something like this on my rig, I have been away from home but left everything running. my ppd average 3 weeks ago was just below 16k. Im lucky to gt 13k the past couple days.

You got enough to mow me over earlier this afternoon!! ;)

There is a bonus on this unit, it just gets lower PPD.

The base points are 921, so you are getting the bonus.

I completed a couple and finished one at 80% time to deadline on it with an 3.5Ghz triple core!! The bonus worked out to nearly 4,000 points but I was getting only 3,000 ish PPD on it. I normally can get over 4,000PPD (if I don't use my PC for anything) for the 481 point 6062 units.

Edit: well, it appears that I have only been getting 921 points for them, no wonder my PPD tanked :(

I got the same 921 for this project on my two machines... But now they're crunching away on 6015's. Hopefully the bonus kicks back in for those.

But in the end, I'm doing this to help further medical research, not for some point total. Gotta keep that in perspective. :)

An AMD X2 4000 (?) client of mine is not making the deadline on the 6701's. Not that this rig was a trailblazer or anything .... but I always managed to eek out a bonus on A3 projects. It was good for about 2000 ppd for the last several months. Oh well, BOINC gets another client.

correction: it's an AMD X2 3800. Misses the deadline by a whole day. :(

I pulled a 6701 yesterday on my e2160 box. It's barely going to make the deadline. My AMDx2 3800+ box won't make the deadline with these units. It's looking like WCG gets four cores real soon.

Anyone know the cutoff TPF for the bonus credit with these WUs? I'm also wondering which of my systems might not make the deadline.

The bonus on these things better be getting credited by now considering all four of my machines are running these absolutely crappy work units. I'm not even getting A2 level points for them.

I think it was 3.2 days, so not including upload, just over 46 minutes.

I have an older C2D that can make the deadline, but boy do all my machines take a giant ppd hit when they get these WUs.

I'd be interested to see whether any users with Core i5s take a hit, seeing as since that's supposed to be the benchmark machine...

The slowest system I observed working these units so far has a TPF of under 21 minutes. I have another system which is slower, but not half the speed. I predict under 40 minutes TPF for that machine. These two systems are handicapped in that they have just 4 cores total, but only 3 cores are used for SMP and one core devoted to GPU.

I am currently crunching one now with my X6 (which is only at 3.9Ghz til tonight) and HFM is showing TPF of 8:22, which is 10,314K PPD..That is a drop of nearly 4-5K PPD from what I've been seeing with other WU's....

Just thought I'd let you guys know what a higher core CPU is getting on them...

What kinda power draw are you guys seeing with those X6 chips?

My killawatt says about 590 watts, thats an x6 @ 3.4, 2gb ram, nvidia 980a M/B, 1 x GTS 250 and an EVGA 275/275 coop op physx board. I've only ever gotten 11.8k out of mine due to feeding 3 gpu's but for the box as a whole it can be 31k PPD - just not with these WU

I would bet that ~400 of those 590 watts are attributable to the 3 GPUs.

I finished the WU I was on earlier while at work, come home to....

Another damn 6701 :(...Getting a Wonderful 10317K PPD this time..

I just noticed that I'm running one of these right now. 21min 3sec TPF. At least I can make the deadline for it.
9 hours in and only 24%, that's rough!

Well, these *are* getting bonus points now. Good thing, since they seem to be all that I am drawing.

I have an X6 at 3840, getting about 9:25 TPF on the 6701's (running -smp 5).

I am seeing 8:22 TPF with SMP 6...The shitty thing is that it takes me .58 of a day to finish one unit and I'll fetch a whopping 5~K PPD for it:rolleyes:...

I would think that these things would get a larger bonus for those of us that can turn them around in under a day..

Hehehe.........that means the more 6701 work units you get, the quicker i'll be able to catch up to you :)

Oh no you won't :p....I noticed that you boosted your PPD by quite a bit recently...Care to share what you added or is it a secret until you try to Mow me over?..

BTW, what makes you think you won't be pulling these in soon?

AMDGAMER,

I just noticed that you have a whopping 74 total WU's completed compared to my 2,338...You gotta love those -Big Adv bonus points..

Actually there is no secret to my recent ppd boost as I posted in that other 2684 A3 bigadv thread. My ppd has seen a boost because I have gotten lucky. I have now gotten 5 A2 bigadv work units in a row, which net me around 22-23k ppd. By comparison, the A3 2684 bigadv work units were only netting me 16k ppd as most of us with lower overclocks on our I7's suffer a HUGE decrease with A3 bigadv. Also during the period where I successfully completed 3 A3 2684's in a row, there was a string of 6 failed 2684's that all failed within the first 1% as it looked like it was giving me the same unstable WU over and over again from what one of the folks at the PG was telling me.

There is a good chance that I won't be pulling any 6071 A3 work units unless they run out of A3 and A2 bigadv stuff. If I have another string of instability with the A3 bigadv, I may head back to regular Windows SMP once again although I see that you guys have run out of work units to do.

I didn't realize that you were pulling the 2684 WU's...I don't believe I even looked at that thread since I cannot run A3 bigadv in my lowly "6" core system lol...

I am a little confused about my recent PPD average according to HardFolding. It reports I have only been averaging ~14KPPD when HFM on this system alone (SMP+GPU) reportss 18-19K PPD..I also have an 8800GTS I installed in my DAd's computer when I last visited that is pulling ~3K PPD and has finished over 12 WU's so I know they are reported...

Yeah when the 2684 A3 bigadv first came out, I pulled 2 back to back that finished without a single problem. Then it pulled another 2684 that had 6 straight failures all within the first 1%. I posted on the Stanford forums and was told that it was failing and pullling the exact same work unit over and over again. After that, I pulled another 2684 that finished without a problem. Since that 3rd successful 2684, i've pulled 5 straight A2's which have bumped my ppd averages to where it was before A3 bigadv came out. I'm sure that my luck will probably run out once it finishes the current one tomarrow.

I am very glad that the release of the Thubans have allowed AMD to be competitive once again in folding. Being a hardcore AMD fan, you have no idea how dirty I feel for having gone with a Core i7 for my folding rig. Some people don't know how you can get so attached to a company, but I feel it is like the nerd version of rooting for your favorite sports team.
