Hey folks, cant figure out this wierd issue.Whenever I load up a 3D game (eg. Prey) I play for a couple of minutes and the PC shuts off like someone flipped the switch,no warning, nothing. This just started happening lately.I built my rig over a year ago and since then have played all major titles with max settings and had no problems at all.I'd even OC'd the card to play Carbon and had no problems.
But lately it seems anyhing graphically intensive and it shuts down.I've cleaned the CPU and the card and also keep the side of the cabinet open but stilll the same thing.
I'm suspecting the card or the PSU.The GPU core temp goes around 65C or may be more
and the VRAM is around 48-50C under load .Is that too hot for video memory??What is the ideal temp under load for VRAM and Core.?? Help me guys!!!!!
My rig :
AMD 3000+ Venice core
MSI K8N Neo4-F
2*512 MB DDR400 Ram
Leadtek GeForce 6800GS
PSU is local brand but a good quality one (20A on the 12+ V rail)
Also have a couple of fans inside.
