Compatability check please

that time again to begin a new build, going crossfire this time!

i want your opinion if you think a different part would be better

i already have a cpu at home to drop into these new parts

still kind of stuck on wondering if i should go with two 4870's, 2 4850's, or just wait and pay a whole lot more for the 4870 x2's. Im currently running with a single 8800 ultra

Case: Cooler master RC 690

Mobo: DFI LP LT x48-T2R

Memory: Gskill (4 gigs)

Video cards: Visiontek 4870

CPU cooling: arctic cooling freezer 7 pro

Power supply: PC power and cooling silencer 750W quad

cd drive: asus black sata

using an x6800 i picked up for 200 bucks, running 1920 x 1080 on my 37 westy

The E8400 is 10% faster than the X6800 at stock speeds and can be had for $160 from microcenter.com. Just an FYI.

If you're planning on overclocking that X6800, get a better HSF. I recommend this:

I recommend waiting for the first reviews of the HD4870X2 if you can. This early preview is certainly interesting.
