COD5 MP Gameplay Vids

The Call of Duty series was ruined for me when CoD3 came out. I tried playing CoD3 and I really didn't like it which was surprising because afaik the treyarch team that does their CoD installments is Gray Matter, the ones behind United Offensive which was an awesome expansion.

I enjoyed/played tons of CoD1/2 and UO. CoD4 was fun for a while, the perks and challenges were neat but it didn't have the lasting effect that all of the other cod games had. Sure, It got great reviews and it was a decent game but it just wasn't the same for me. Even the single player wasn't as good as the first 2 real installments. I have probably played through the campaigns in cod1/2 at least 10+ times each and played tons of multiplayer.

I found that it was a struggle for me to even finish cod4's campaign, it took me like 3 weeks to finish and I literally had to sit down and force myself to finish it just because I wanted to get it overwith. I haven't played it since and I don't plan on playing it again. The only mission that stood out to me or that I have any desire to play again is "All Ghillied Up"

I am really hoping treyarch works some of that united offensive magic back into CoD5 because if not, call of duty is just gonna become another mediocre yearly title like Medal of Honor has become. Which is ironic because most of infinity ward developed the first good original MoH games.

PC or 360? thanks for the mini review by the way, sounds like a lot of fun.

sorry, i should have mentioned that i was playing the 360 beta. as much as id like to play it for pc, all of my friends play games on 360 almost exclusively....since CoD4 is generally my "have fun with friends game" (WoW being my competitive type game) the 360 version is the choice for me.

.....though after playing with the controller for so long, its really not bad at all once you get used to it....the 360 controller is definitely designed with shooters in mind.

I never really enjoyed COD4 multiplayer and this looks exactly the same with different skins, weapons, and average graphics. I hate that you die in like 3 bullets. I wish these games were more like halo where it was actually fun to kill someone because it was more of a challenge. All COD games are like spray and pray kills where you die in like 100milliseconds. Ill pass on this. This just seems like a filler game just to make a little more money on practically the same damn game.

really? you must have been playing in a hardcore server because the "old school" servers take pretty much an entire magazine to drop an enemy. fyi, if you every give it another shot you can filter for "old school" game type in the game browser.

It takes like 3 or 4 bullets to kill someone. No offense or anything but you just don't know how to aim properly.

non taken, but i always find it funny when people try to make assumptions about other people's gameplay mechanics. in old school mode it takes more than 3 or 4 body shots to drop an enemy. it takes 3 or 4 body shots to drop a guy in hardcore mode. headshots are usually a 1-shot kill so i think it's obvious we're not talking about them. i haven't played in an old school server since before the first patch, so maybe things have changed since then...but i doubt it. otherwise there would be no differentiation between old school and hardcore modes.

but will play worse

nah i've got my hopes up for this one. i think treyarch will have a good game this time around. of course all of this is speculation until we've actually played the game.

played it (mp beta) last night and was unpleasantly surprised to find that it is 95% a skin and sound mod for CoD4. Every time a developer other than Infinity Ward touches the franchise, they fuck it up or clone the last successful one from I-Ward. This game should be sold as an expansion pack for 20 bucks at most. I will not be buying this game. Im not gonna support this milk-the-franchise-till-it-fucking-dies crap any longer.

Wow, that doesnt look very good to be honest with you, but it is the 360 version, so i can understand that, i wonder how the PC version looks.

i hope it's better than that, because that reminds me of medal of honor for the PS2.....

it looks pretty much identical to COD4, which looks arguably identical acrossed PC, PS3, and 360 (aside from difference of resolution).

Can't wait until its out. Going to get it for sure. Cod4 was good but to me cod has always been about world war 2. The story behind world war 2 and the era is just more interesting since we've never really experienced it in real life. We already know what its like in modern times lol. Looks like it'll be a hit.

yea, +1 to this.

no no, i'm saying the game looks good. I'm disagreeing with what you said above about how it looks like MOH on the PS2. COD5 looks just as good as COD4, graphically, which looks pretty damn good.

oic...

the first bit of the gameplay video looked a bit blocky and such, but we'll see once it comes out, ill definately be getting it anyways :)

i got the multiplayer video from the CoD site as my wallpaper, i do say that co-op would be great to finally have and the fact it mainly takes place in other areas besides europe and germany is a major plus. finally, some new ground to stomp on and raise some hell.

i am unpleased with the kill streak rewards tho....5 kill streak for artillery, 7 for attack dogs? wtf? it would make more sense to switch them around...

i get the feeling the attack dogs are extremely effective.

FYI, the PC multiplayer beta goes live tomorrow. supposedly everybody that's registered at callofduty.com will get a beta key (regardless of when you signed up).

Yeah we'll see about that

chances are actually pretty high. i signed up and about a week later i received an Xbox360 beta key when the site was still claiming that only VIP members would receive them (and i was listed as not even owning a 360). they now claim that everybody who is signed up will get a PC beta key. i think it's essentially an open beta with this BS in an effort to up their member count, which is fine by me.

key codes are being sent out, i got mine a little bit ago. now i just need to get my ass home and download the client.

Can't wait. Just kind of wish that it was still modern war, but whatever it's still a great game.

....another WW2 shooter....can't they make anything else? The genre is definitely getting WORN OUT...

How about a futuristic space shooter, like combat aboard a starship, or something along those lines....

They did its called UT3 :p

Hardly. I'm a history buff and it annoys me when games aren't accurate. I realize I'm in the minority, but would it be that hard to model the Soviet SVT instead of just giving Russians an American made, American fielded rifle? I might be wrong since you can't see too well in the video and the graphics are average.

I get annoyed when someone is playing as a Marine in CoD4 with an AK47 or mounting an ACOG on an Uzi. It kills the immersion for me. I'm sure it sounds wierd/petty/stupid to you so I won't bash you back, but its my opinion just like it's my choice whether I buy the game or not. If they are lazy/inaccurate with the weapons I won't buy it.

I played RO briefly. It was ok but I prefered CoD:UO at the time. Now it just looks and feels too outdated and clunky.

I like my realism with enough action to keep me interested. I used to love DoD back in its old beta form...
