I really like some of the new maps. There are a few I don't like, but mostly because I'm not familiar with them. New maps are enough of a draw that I'm willing to play a mod and put up with Normal mode.

I don't like the new ACE 1.8 update. They put the crosshairs back in, and pistols are pretty silly. Sniper rifles are gimped. I almost get the impression that Juggernaut has been boosted too. I guess the mod really comes down to someone played on a server and got beaten, so they made a mod that tweaked the game play to cater to their strengths and limit the abilities that they don't like. It's a shame, but the new maps are a very welcome change.

I never mess with sniper rifles, I'm so bad with them. I'm definately not a fan of the crosshairs...

I don't run juggernaut in my kits, I'll have to try it to see what you mean.
 
oh my GOD how are people still playing this game. Maps the size of shoeboxes the gameplay is the exact same thing over and over and over the moment you spawn. shallowly repeadative :rolleyes:
 
Hardcore is the only way to play sniper it seems (or even bother with pistols). Otherwise, yeah, I agree, in 'arcade' mode sniper rifles arent even worth it.

One of the best things some have tried (when less people are on the server, and we can all agree to some rules), is pistols only hardcore. Its freakin' intense, and funny. You guys might want to try it sometimes. I wish there was a gun-game mod like with CS:source as well... that would be alot of fun. Otherwise, having a pistols only server might be a really cool thing to try. It really comes down to close range accuracy, since you can shoot someone a dozen times with a pistol, but not kill them even in hardcore unless you make the shots count (head, chest). Its been alot of fun. Another one we have been trying is SMG's only (pistols too, just no rifles/sniper/shotty, etc). You get people with scoped P90s and UZI's for makeshift sniping and lots of skorpions and AK74's. Lots of fun. That also results in quite the melee, and talk about a skill builder! Thats why I wish there was a CoD4 Gun Game mod.

Do you play on PC or console? Play on some custom map PC servers...

Ya serioiusly, Visec. Come try the Biohazard Custom Map servers. There are several down right huge maps. And it's normal mode. You should appreciate that.

Yeah its still fun even people say its repetitive. if you find a good group of players then u can make it interesting like knife only or pistols.. They should release more maps then it should be alot better.:D

You have a Normal mode server with people actually in it????? wowwwowowowwow!!

Just connect to the server, it will stream it to you. You can download the map packs at www.biohazardclan.com though if you want to save yourself the wait.

They have two custom map servers, and both are usually completely full.

I kinda take offense to that, I was in the service, was medicaly discharged for a hip injury, and I for one like hardcore (not because i think im hardcore cause its called hardcore) but because of the realism in the fact that if you are a dumb...., not paying attention to detail.... you are dead... I like the fact that it keeps up with the reality aspect.

Another person said knifing was pointless and had no skill in hardcore because one click with any weapon would be just as effective...... but thats just not the case, its rather funny and humiliating when you are skilled enough to somehow come upon someone, and knife them when yes....they could have just fired one shot into you stoping you dead in your tracks.....


I personaly perfer hardcore because of the realism aspect, ive played both the pc and xbox 360 versions, as far as camping goes, i feel its a tactic, and i know someones going to say something stupid about my next statement, but fact of the matter is, its true, and its my type of playing style....

Camping is a tactic, if you are good enough to kill without being killed, great.....the enemy has to actually work to find you to end the madness, in real life your simply not going to run and gun into a battle, your going to find cover, and use it to your advantage... now granted i dont like ppl who just camp to camp, if you camp thats fine, if its being used in a tactical way.... both game modes have this.... When i played xbox 360, i comonly found myself, and 3 other teamates holding up a building, camping inside it, preventing the enemy from getting the upper hand.... guess i was the lose.


Now yes i agree, if its going to cause such a problem with 'hardcore is for newbs' because of the name....im all for changing it, its not going to affect me, but dont say something is noobish because its not your style, i personally dont like normal mode and could easily argue is noobish as well, because when you run up on someone with a p90, unload a full clip in them, and they still turn around and kill you, thats not noobish, but its lame....not fun at all in MY eyes.... everyone of course is entitled to their own oppinion.

Yes i like twitch style game play too, love quake 3....ra3...ect... however in games like this, im more tailored towards the realism side..

Just my 2 cents.

I feel the same way (I wont got as far as saying realism, but yeah...)
