time to explore the wonderful world of headphones :D. you can get a lot of bang for your buck in that world.

I was looking to get wireless for BF3 on my PS3, but thats not cheap.
right now I run a set of Grado cans, but I need more then 10ft of cable...

BF3 for me. I only play FPS on the PC though.

However, I am only about an hour into the single player of MW3, and the graphics seem really poor. Im at 1920x1200 with all options turned up as high as they go. I dont recall MW2 looking like this, but I havent played it in over a year. This isnt a troll post, I really am having a hard time with how the game looks, like something is wrong with my system. On a 6850, with newest drivers. Fiddled around with the card settings, and all options are up for it too. MW3 just looks grainy, low res, and poor compared to BF3? IS there a graphical comparison on the PC somewhere so I dont think Im crazy.

Did you set the resolution option (or similar, I don't remember the exact menu entry name) to 'Native'? This should help. The graphics will at least match MW2 then.

And since I'm relplying in this thread anyway, I'd like to add that I really enjoy MW3.
I didn't expect a huge step forward and IMHO the game delivers what I've been looking for:
fast paced FPS which is also fun to play for 20 minutes without the need for TS.
Unfortunately BF3 comes with this Origin 'spyware' and there is no way I'm gonna install that
or tolerate the attitude which made that possible.

After playing CODBLOPs free weekend I can say that CoD requires little skill. Slow movement, fast deaths, extremely close quarters combat, and laser guns don't take much to master.
To excel at each respective game requires a certain type of "skill". To be good at BF3 you rely more on your "skills" concerning team work. To be good at CoD you must rely upon raw twitch fps skills. It's not that complicated.

I have a boner for BF3. And I've been out of the FPS scene for years, at least in any serious form.

I've got an awesome pair, but with the cord length from the receiver to the couch + dogs and kids and having to listen for the baby to wake up and getting up and down all the time and blah blah blah excuses excuses, I usually only wear them at the PC on rare occasions or use them while traveling.

I have these, bought a pair for my wife and I. You can leave music playing and head off for a poop without removing your headphones! :D

Haven't played BF3, yet. As for MW3, I think the commercial with Sam Worthington is more entertaining than the game.

Well, I don't know. I want to try one of these to get back at FPSs. The last ones I've played are Quake and Counter Strike (the first one).

I was thinking about BF3, but seems to me I'll not enjoy it with my current video card. I'll have to wait until I get a new one.

On the other hand, I can try MW3 in all its glory right now, as its requirements are low. But they're both the same price, and I just have money for one. Also, all I see is people trashing it left and right.

Decisions, decisions...

If you just want to get in and shoot peeps with other people online. While not needing to up your GPU horsepower, might as well go for MW3. I went for BF3, because I've always enjoyed the BF series of games. i.e. BF1942, BFDC mod, BF2, BF2142, etc. I still have my BF2 and BF2142 disc's, I installed them not too long ago and they look like shit with graphics maxed. :) lol

does BF3 totally suck at low settings or will I get my money's worth out of it even playing at LOW?

NEGATIVE!!!!

I have a GTX 460 768MB, and play at 1600x1200 on my 24", and with everything set to LOW and 8x AA it still looks awesome... You'll not regret it... And ohh yeah, I play MP exclusively....

Edit
And oh yeah, BF3 all the way (poll). I've been a COD4 player for years, haven't tried any of the MW flavor, and probably will not (well maybe when its in $9 bin). Actually a lot of MW1 and 2 maps have been ported over to COD4... But right now, BF3 is causing me to be an insomniac....;)
