COD: Modern Warfare 2 PC version $29.99?!

If anyone does this, grab a second copy for this Canadian please? I'll make your game 5$ cheaper :)

gainesville fl they tried to tell me no at first, then i went and grabbed an ad from the front of the store and showed it to them and they honored it
 
Think I have the sunday print version at home, gonna try this tomorrow. $30 is about what this game is really worth.

The cash register girl originally rang it up and it was $59.99. I had her pull the ad and showed here where it said $29.99. She had to get a manager and and I thought it would be a no go. Manager went to the back to look it up online next thing you know she comes back and manually adjusts the price.

It worked $29.99 COD MW2......

I may have missed a page or two in this thread, but I went out and got it from my local BB in Baltimore, MD.

When I got to the shelf it was on they carefully had a sign in front of the game that said that it was a price mistake from the ad and that the price really was 59.99. However, because I don't give up because of signs and I trust the fact that most workers in BB are unaware of this price adjustment (and don't care enough to check), I took it to the customer service counter to get it rung up anyway (with an ad fresh in my hand that I picked up in store)

After about 10 minutes of them trying to find a manager some associate with powers got impatient and decided to give me the credit anyway. This is truly a YMMV, however it will be harder because BB knows they made a price mistake and sent it to all their stores to print out. Just hope your BB reps are not smart enough to read about updates and price checks (more than likely, they arent... no offense to anyone who works at BB here.... im not talkin about you!)
 
I think if we have any [H] members that worked @ BB, they should ring it up as $29.99 and if anyone asks, say it was the ad.
 
BB here in VA Beach explained to me that it was a pricing mistake and then rang me up for $60. I LOL'd and went to Walmart where I bought 2 copies for $30 a pop. :D
 
My Best Buy was out of stock, and they had a sign posted about the incorrect price. The store rep tried to tell me that it was not out for PC yet, so I asked him why was it listed in the the ad and why did they have a sign posted? He just looked at me stupid and smiled. So I went to Target and they honored the ad price. They also took my whole ad for the price match. Three people looked page 18 with the incorrect price while page 19 showed the correct price just inches away.
 
I had no problem getting a price match at Walmart. I technically paid only $5 since I had a $25 gift card I had been sitting on for a while. So far the single player has been worth the price. If the multiplayer ever gets fixed that would be icing on the cake.

That is the glorious part about the whole thing. Just three inches away, would have cost us an extra thirty bucks.

went to BB and picked up the print ad, then went to target and showed them the BB print ad.

MW2 rang up for $30.

now that i've bought it, i'm debating whether this game is worth $30 or not. lol.
 
Cold deal, should be free with the way they butchered and removed stuff from the core game. Terrible expansion to CoD4.

HOLY COW its only a 2.2 on metacritic pc user reviews. how can a game that got such high professional review scores get that low of a pc user rating???

Just goes to show the maturity level of PC gamers. I mean, how can it deserves more than one star. Obviously their removal of dedicated servers makes it a terrible terrible game.
 
Picked it up right at Best Buy in Plano, TX. I saw the "misprint" sign next to the game, so I picked it up and put it behind the shelves so other people won't be deterred not to try it. Rang up at $60, showed them the ad, manager went out to change it to 30. An employee across from mine asked if the Xbox360 was that cheap as well. She said no, and he was sad. :( lol

LMAO, not like the xbox and PS3 haven't been getting good deals ($40 at one point).

?? Not sure where your going with that maturity level comment.

Anyway, IMHO it deserves a 2 or less. From what I've read its only has 4 to 5 hours single player and our LAN party group of 20 to 30 can't play in the same game anymore. :(
 
Best buy in Jacksonville Fl honored the price.
Went there on my lunch

Went to the register with the ad in hand.
The girl said "Oh this game? I did one of these yesterday too"
 
Price match worked at Wal-mart today, picked up two copies. The lady behind the counter after ringing it up: "$60 for a PC game?". Haha, my thoughts exactly.

not to mention, no dedicated server support means you'll all be playing over the internet....you'll need a big pipe to support 20-30 at once.
 
I couldn't believe it at first, but after reading all the success stories all over, I decided to try it @ BestBuy. There was one locally right across the street (literally; RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET) from my school so I said: what the hell, let's do this. Unfortunately, I forgot to do my Leeroy warcry. Once I walked in, I grabbed the weekly ad and checked out this "typo" for myself. Then I continued to the cash register (this was where they kept the games) and proceeded with the transaction. At first, the cashier looked puzzled by the ad so he pulled out his iPhone to look up something "on the computer or online". During these few minutes, I was going: shit, shit.. it's over. I hope the manager is much more lenient than this mofo..." Sure enough, the cashier said it checks out and that he's willing to adjust the price for me. I paid my $32.83 and walked out happily. Now to think of it, I think that was the only actual "BEST Buy" I've ever come across with this damn chain of ripoffs.

Now, to add to the picture madness;

I was at Sears picking up some gifts for the wife and decided to go to the Best Buy across the street. I made sure to cover the part of the ad that had the correct price :) The MOD even said it was a typo and said the hell with it, lol.

I ended up getting one too at Best Buy. The guy doing the price override did a double take on the price, but he still okay'd it. =D
 
Thanks to this thread, I went back to the newspaper ads that was about to be thrown out, grabbed the ad and checked out my Best Buy in San Carlos, CA. They honored the ad price and now giving this game a shot.
 
I got all excited and dug through my paper to find the add but mine doesn't have the missprint :(

$30 I could do but I won't pay $60 for that game after they gutted the multiplayer.

quick question that may help me decide to get this. I only care about single player and I know the main mission is short. is spec ops just a real live person co op or can I play that by myself?
 
My bad I was looking at the PC section. I didn't catch te first time that it was underthe Xbox 360 section
