As we all know this will be the first CoD game not to come to PC. But are we really missing out? Including the MoH series, which is about the same thing, we've had nearly ten of these games, all covering almost the same thing. Frankly the first few were fun, but after so many games, the non-realistic shoot-em up WWII fps game doesn't really impress me anymore. BIA 3 might be good as it look like they're trying to take the realism tack, but that's beside the point.

First, we can be relatively certain that CoD 3 will be just like the last million games in it's niche genre, with the possibility of a clumsy gimmick to mix things up. On the other hand, one obvious, possible redemption for this game could have been amazing cinematic graphics. Unfortunately these seem pretty week. As one call tell from these http://games.bytesector.com/xbox360/fps/cod3/previews/preview115.php screens, the game looks almost a step back for CoD II, and I'd hardly be surprised to learn that it was running on the Quake 3 engine. The textures are horrid, the normal mapping looks like plastic, and it just looks unimpressive. What happend to the power of the 360? Why does this look worse than COD2? I think this game's gonna flop. Anyone else?

That's what I'm curious about right now. I watched the multiplayer vid and it looked decent. Its hard to tell right now about the quality of the game... just gotta wait a couple more weeks.

Why fix it if it aint broke? COD2 was a huge hit for 360 when it came out. Now those same people are going to buy the game, as well as the people who are interested who didnt buy it.

i've watched a few trailers on CoD3, it looks really bad imo. no hate for the die-hard fans, i liked CoD2, but 3 looks absolutely crap
graphics=bad (bump mapping or wrinkle/messed up mapping?)
gameplay= well, you shoot stuff..nothing new there, the "melee" is a joke
story= well its WWII nothing new there really
and i dont think im missing out on much, INfinity Ward is the real CoD developer and i suspect they are working on a "real" sequel to the game not just a cash in. well, hopefully anyway.

it was only a huge hit b/c it was one of the few 1/2 decent launch games..

No ones missing out on anything, Call of Duty United Offensive was the best of all the CoD games, now IW is turning into exactly what 2015 was at EA. They make a hit title game, release an expansion, release a shit load of console versions and keep remaking the same exact thing over and over with no technological upgrades (ragdolls FFS) or game-play improvements.

I usually reserve judgement until I try something but CoD 3 will be EXACTLY like CoD 2 with it's piss ugly graphics, its boring multiplayer and horribly unrealistic single-player.

And on a side note, who the hell came up with that melee bullshit? I'd be willing to wager less than 100 people in the entire war managed to strip a weapon away from another soldier in extremely close quarters, or even lock weapons.

I'll be saving my money for Spore and Age of Conan. :D

I'm pissed they aren't releasing it for the PC. I don't own a console and I'm not buying one. I don't understand why they would have excluded a PC release.

I was a die hard COD fan, but COD 2 got old quick. lack of support, so so MP. Lets hope that pc gamers dont get ignored. I am willing to miss COD 3, if infinity ward has something more innovative and superior for us.

I was happy to see Infinity Ward behind COD 2 opposed to Gray Matter who made COD: UO and turned it into something like BF1942... Not that BF1942 is bad, but I'm not into driving tanks and jeeps to kill - I want a Bar or a SMG to shoot the Jerries with not a shell.

I think Activision is making a mistake by ignoring the PC market with COD3.

Hopefully Infinity Ward will whip out a killer COD 4 or something else and not ignore the PC market.

I never understood the draw of any of the CoD games. They aren't really that mindblowing imo. Just the same old war fps game we've seen time and time again.

Does it say somewhere that COD3 will absolutely not be on PC????? Or is it just first release for the consoles????

It's being made by a console developer. It's NOT coming out for PC. IW is working on COD4 for pc

Infany Ward is not developing Call of Duty 3 and United Offensive was developed mainly by Gray Matter Studios.

Here is my reply to the other Whaaa no COD3 pc thread:

COD3 is console only because Activison owns the franchise and decided to make the third game console only! A lot like Big Red One. Is there a Big Red One for PC? no.

They dropped the ball on the naming thing. It should have been called Call of Duty 2: Battle for Normandy, or something to that extent. Instead they unknowingly alienated PC players and confused a lot of people who confuse easily.

The thing I would be more upset about (which I am, since I'm an avid COD2 player) is the complete lack of PC support brought forth by Infinity Ward and how the claim to want to help but then have Public Relations (fourzerotwo) disappear and cater to consoles instead, because he's just a 360 player.

IW recently held a all nighter COD2 party... for consoles. No LAN for PC... no they were sitting around on couches with 360 clans. They have offered nothing to PC players since the 1.3 lack luster patch.

I will be very hesitant to buy another COD game, and I've been playing COD since the original.

amidst all the bitchin I too have yet to see someone clearly state they are not making it for PC, but who cares. its naive thinking its not in the works, whatever version. #2 easily has the most immersive mix of sounds and no smoke nades look better

wut's a console

Probably because they hope that console users won't notice that the graphics are worse this time round, because they are just going for one last cheap milking of the cash cow. PC users see that coming a mile away.

Well for me, when I spend my time playing CoD2 on dual 7900GTXs CoD3 will look a little dry :D .

All I can say is that I love COD on PC but COD2 performed just terrible at any setting. I'd hate to see how a COD3 would perform.

Anyway, COD2 performed well on the Xbox 360 and I will definitely be getting COD3 unless something major is wrong with it.
