i have a pc chips mobo and when i turn it on, it says CMOS BAttery low, when it isnt and the memory is wrong. what is wrong?

ok the specs are
1.6ghz p4
256mb ddr

and when the computer boots up, it says BAD CMOS BATTERY
and CMOS MEMORY WRONG

and it says
press F1 to enter setup
Press F2 to contine the default settings.
and everything works. ok
but why does this say this. the bios is set up to the default config
and everything:(

Just remove the battery and get a replacement at bettery master.

Good Luck

I assume you tried replacing the battery, right? Maybe there is some corrosion on the contacts. Try cleaning them with some alcohol and a cotton swab.

i already went out a got a new battery. cleaned the contacts with Qtips and diped them in acoloho. still says
the it actualy says
"CMOS Memory Size Wrong"

Did you try clearing the CMOS after replacing the battery? Should be a momentary jumper you need to short. Seems like it should have cleared itself without a battery though.
