Hey all, just picked up an x1800xt and put some water to it. Done some mild tweaking and bios changing. Here is result so far:

I figure a few more hours of twaeking and 11000 is gonna be history. For all those who haven't upgraded to the new bios, don't wait any longer...

That's awesome. Some more extreme cooling would get you past 11k no problem.

So what are your speeds? I see two sets of info there.

594/693
749.25/972

Seeing as the new "PE" BIOS automatically sets you to 700/800, I'm guessing that "Hardware monitoring" is incorrect?

11K 3dmark05 has fallen... :D

Heh, I have a feeling 12k may be just a tough harder to crack. :p

Very nice~!

What are you memory settings on the board and are you doing any driver tricks other than setting everything to max performance?

LOL! I forgot about setting max performance in CCC.Will have to do another run. :p
Don't know what memory timings i'm using. AtiTool gives error message, and AtiTrayTools gives an error message and refuses to load on my system.

Core = 760, memory = 972

Not a bad little card.

oooo nice 1 :D
did u just get that rig? because you have nothing on there apart form rivatuner and something else :p

No, had it for a long time, work in progress if you know what I mean. Just got the x1800xt Thursday night, had sli'd 7800gt's before that. With the Gt's my best 05 was 12K. I'm almost sure I can hit that with just one Ati card...

Eva2000, I dropped 32c going from stock heatsink to maze 4 water.

After doing some more tweaking, it seam 12k is going to be harder than I thought. Must keep going...

Yes, you must. I am upgrading next year to either; a) an X1800XT (PE), b) buying one of ATi's new cards that will be made on the R580, or c) if nVidia has a better card for a better price. I want to see exactly how far an X1800XT can go. Keep on trucking ;)

cam i go off topic for 1 sec? thnx :p

you said the x1800xt was better than sli'd 7800gt's in another thread...howcome?

When I went to sli i had to ditch either my sound card or my tv tuner card, I chose to ditch the sound card. But I hated the onboard sound, sucks big time. So single card allows me to have my sound card back. And keeps my case from being quite so cluttered.

Plus, and I know this is controversial, I can see a difference in image quality. Things just look better on the Ati card. Perfect example is the shimmering in Guild Wars, drove me nuts. Now it is gone.

In certain sli modes I could see a line in the middle of the screen, not tearing either, something totally different. I'm for sure it was an artifact from sli.

Sli was great don't get me wrong, but it wasn't for me...

I think it has its place with the users that will forego image quality for all out raw speed.

Great scores man! Makes me want an Opty 175 real bad as I can't get 3ghz with my wimpy X2 3800+ :(

Yeap I hear you, I personally have 2 7800GT's with the zalman cooler on them but they are stored away as I somehow prefer the X1800XT for the same reasons image quality and I have my PCI slots free and available if I need to add any expansion cards.

Wow...Thats some nice overclockin. Keep it up...Guess we should be saying that to ure card :p

see who can break 12k first :p :)

Edit: you know the His range of cards..are they specially selected becasue they oc better or are they just fitted with better coolers?

What are you guys doing for drivers? Just leave it all stock but set everything to max performance?

Nice nice work! Makes me want to go get a freaking 170.

Stock Ati cats set to performance...

Great scores, man. Are you getting any artifacts while running 05 at that speed?

Also, does anyone know what theme he's using? I'm a little bit of a nub when it comes to XP, and that desktop theme rocks.

790/972? Get outta here!! I thought I was cool with my 700/800 :(

Well I got 10082 in 3dMark05 so I'm glad :)

What are you changing to increase your scores?

1. GPU / Mem speeds?
2. CPU speed?
3. Memory improvements?
