So, I'm getting a new HD, and I want to move some of my apps, not all of them, to a fresh install of windows. I did some google searching and I think there are programs that might do the job. My question is, is it worth it/possible to try cloning just individual folders and apps or should I just do an entire clone of my current OS/apps partition (would it be easier?). Also, what would be the best program to do either of those? Thanks in advance.

Just cloning the drive would be easier.. If the HD you are getting is retail, it will come with a cd tha has a disk cloning utility on it.. Install both drives boot from the cd and poke around til you find the option to clone your old drive to the new one.... Disconnect old drive and boot to Windows. If all is well, reconnect the old drive reboot and format it..

Acronis true image would be a nice way of cloning your entire partition/drive.

Assuming the trial of True Image has what I need to do, I'm going to use that to just clone the entire partition, thanks for the advice guys.
