I can get an Athlon XP 2600@2.08ghz w/384k cache or a 2600@1.91ghz w/640k cache. What's the difference???

thanks...

Thanks for the link Benny. I didn't realize that they made a 2600 with the Thoroughbred core. So its Thoroughbred vs. Barton (which I'll need to research) and the Barton has twice the cache. I guess my question is what is the diff between greater clock speed w/less cache vs. lower clock speed w/double the cache...

Well you can see by AMD's performance rating (2600+) that a 1.91ghz/333mhz front side bus 512kb L2 is equivalent in performance to a 2.08ghz/333fsb 256k.

And also equal to a 2.13ghz/266fsb 256k L2.

The extra cache on the 512kb L2 will have a slightly higher temps in comparison to the 256k thoroughbred. This is not really a big deal though.
