$40 is way to big an ask for this... And that's coming from someone who has Civ 6 sitting in my #1 spot for hours logged in Steam.

Old World just launched and is in many ways superior to Civ 6. Humankind is coming later this year and also looks very good. The historical 4x space is about to get more crowded than it's ever been. Civ is going to have to get competitive. $40 for a handful of new civs ain't it.

New game modes is pretty vague. I'm guessing they will basically just be new scenarios.

This feels like the sort of stuff devs give away for free to keep people interested in their games. They are asking for expansion pack money, not being clear about what your getting for that money (but it doesn't sound like expansion pack level material), and taking a year to fully deliver. That doesn't feel right to me.

I hear you. Wont be a day 1 buy for me unlike releases and major expansions.

While I own Civ 6, it just not that great of a game, especially compared to Civ 5. Definitely not worth $40.

$40 for a year of DLC, I'm in. Civ VI feels unfinished even with the two expansions so far.

These games used to cost $40-$60 in the '90s. I don't see why people are hardliners on low prices for games. Forty bucks, that's what, dinner for two at a casual restaurant? We're not eating out all that much anyway...
