There are finally getting to be more USB 3.0 products on the market and this one caught my eye. The CDD2000 from Cirago is one of the first ones I have seen that is not ugly as sin and on top of that has a very small footprint. This one you can leave on your desk and not be ashamed of. These guys are proud of it though, for $45 at Amazon with Free Prime Shipping it should come with a USB 3.0 cord longer than 4 feet. Works like it should though and transferred an 8GB file from my Corsair SSD to my desktop in less than 2 minutes.

Might look to get a USB 3.0 dock sometime soon. These eSATA are a PITA.

dang, I'd get one if my FT03 case didn't already have one built in, lol.....

anyhow, I think I can find a use for this at the office :)

I have a eSATA dual docking deck with no issues. It was SCSI and PATA drives that was more of a pain. I think that USB3 with SSD will show the biggest improvement. Waiting on SSD prices to drop more.

What's wrong with eSATA.

I don't really want to rehash every detail (you can check my past posts in the Data and Storage forum if you'd like) but the jist of it, I was unable to get dual eSATA docks (tried different brands) to work reliably on a number of different controllers. The primary issue being that I would generally need to restart the computer if I wanted the drivers to be recognized, if I previously had the docking station on during the same session of windows.

Strange. My eSATA HDDs have been fine. Are you using AHCI (instead of IDE mode)?

Not strange, I have seen eSATA compatibility issues a lot. USB 3.0 just works. :D
