Cheaper alternative to P182?

Been wanting to get a new case for some time, the one I have has been through a lot (including half a dozen trips around the country and even over the Atlantic) and is falling apart. I've been wanting an Antec P182 for some time, but always thought it was too much money to spend on a case. Is there a cheaper alternative that still has good airflow, good quality construction, silent and preferably easy installation by having removable trays for hard-drives and such?

I know I'm asking much, but I need to finally retire my sorry excuse for a case, but I can't spend too much money on it.

I live in Europe, Sweden to be specific (Lived in Canada when I bought the case 3 years ago). Shouldn't pose much of a problem since we have pretty much the same cases over here, just wanted to mention it just in case.

P18x is in class of its own in silencing features.
Especially open front, thousand and one holes cases are from opposite end of scale.

I think I've found what I'm looking for. NZXT Hush. about 40 % cheaper than P182 (at least over here) and has gotten great reviews across the board. The CM690 might be a little better in cooling, but it also is louder. Anyone here have a Hush?

Should be still lot more cheaper.
- PSU in hottest position
- Made worser by back exhaust fan's mesh being way too restrictive. (=more noise, less airflow)
- Very light construction so nearly anything can turn whole case to loudspeaker. (makes direct noise escape path look small problem)
- Akasa Sh*tmat in sidepanels is completely impotent to damping anything.

Then why are the reviews so great for Hush?

OverclockersClub gives it a recommended sign (they don't give out numbers)

I looked at the Antec Solo which seems nice, the price is almost exactly in the middle between Hush and P182. What do you think about that case?

If you don't mind waiting, every once and awhile there's a sale on the P182 for ~$50, you just have to catch it.

I have a P182 with four 120mm fans, 2 on high and 2 on medium speeds, and I can barely hear it running.

It takes a lot of setup but damn if isn't the nicest case I have seen or worked on.

I have the Solo and it is quite, but if you want to put in a large graphics card you will need to do some modding to the hdd bays. The space where it goes is only as long as the MB itself, but even with the mod you should still get 3 hdds inside, if needed.

Guess you missed that I live in Sweden ^^ I've never seen it below 1000SEK (about $125) and right now it's only getting more expensive since the USD has increased by about 30 % in value compared to the SEK since August. Cheapest right now is about $160. However I do want a P182...

The P18X is in a class of it's own. Great Cable Management + Silence. If you want an alternative, try looking for a Antec Solo (don't know if it's any cheaper over there) but it's anoter silence case. Using a quiet PSU + 1x Silent 120mm fan contributes almost no noise at all. I have the Antec EarthWatts 430w with the stock Tri-Cool on low and I can't hear anything; only the hard drive during random seeks.

Right, just thought you still had a friend or something over here. Sorry, that sucks, don't know where to look then.

I'm thinking of getting the P182 anyway. Don't want to regret that I was to cheap to spend those extra bucks that I'll probably use for something stupid anyway. Besides a good case can last a long time, it doesn't become obsolete as fast as video cards ^^

Mr. K6: Yeah I've got some friends both in Canada and in the US, but I bet the shipping cost for a 14KG case across the Atlantic would cost more than the case itself. Wouldn't be worth it I'm afraid.

Trust me, it'll be the best 1200SEK you've ever spent.

It seems none of the three fans that come with the case are intake fans. Should I get two extra fans to put at the front where there is room, or does the case suck in enough air as it is?
