Hello all! Long time lurker, first time poster. Anyway, I'm building a cheap-ish gaming pc for a friend of mine. I've already decided on the parts, I'm just wondering if [H] has anything to add or critique to it.
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
This build will be for gaming. He says he just wants to max Starcraft 2 and minecraft on this machine but I know that once he has it he'll be playing a lot more than that. Web browsing and a comic viewer too, but to be honest you can do that with almost any computer.
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
I'd like to get this build for around the price listed below. I can be persuaded to go a little higher if I can be convinced it's worth it. Shipping is ~20 so far and newegg doesn't charge tax in my state.
3) Where do you live?
Sheridan, Wyoming
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
Case, PSU, CPU, Mobo, GPU, Hard drive, Disc drive, Memory and the windows license
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
He will be reusing a monitor and will get mouse/keyboard and speakers seperately.
6) Will you be overclocking?
No.
7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
I do not know at all. I assume it's an older one so I doubt it's more that 1680.
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
As soon as I get the parts/Hopefully this week.
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video? etc.
I do not need any of the listed features. He will be fine with usb 2 and SATA 3Gb/s for this build
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
No.
I hope you don't mind me putting up my part list in this way.
