Cheap 6400Mhz DDR5

AFAIK, at that speed, still just a game for Intel memory controllers, right?

Could if offer tighter timing at lower freq and still an interesting price/perf for someone aiming 6000hz or is that all rolling a dice/not really relevant ?

Depends. It's similar to the old DDR4 3733 Max on AM4. You might be able to go higher, but it throws the infinity fabric onto a divider. You can always lower the CAS and other timings though to improve performance at 6000.

One thing to mention is to be careful with high speed/tight timings on RAM, particularly DDR5, boards can be very picky with it. You can get some that is a speed supported on your board, but find it doesn't work, whereas another one will. If you are getting high performance RAM I recommend checking which modules the vendor has on their QVL list and buying from that. It isn't that ones that aren't on it WON'T work, but the ones that are on it will work basically guaranteed.

If you're on AM5 and you find some memory that might make sense in the future for your drop in upgrade, always something to consider.
While possibly true, not sure how high the hurdle is for AMD. But, yes, AMD figuring all that out would be great down the road. Hoping again that it is actually "fixable".
