Would it be possible to use a color lcd from a cell phone the same as you would a regular lcd? comments , thought, and pictures of this if its been done would be appreciated.

The not so easy answer: You'd need years of experience to build an LCD controller for the cellphone screen or the visor screen.
That's the exception - not the rule.
