I increased my 3dMark03 from 10397 to 11140. Not too shabby. Farcry also plays very smooth with these. Go get'em boys!

I never ran the betas. I got the jump in performance going from the 4.5 official release to the official 4.6s.

downloading right now, hopefully i'll see some improvement as well.

my 3dmark 2001 went down 200 points. Havent tried anything else. I'm guessing its mostly DX9 improvments. A couple more frames in far cry would be more than welcome.

thief3 is still screwed up in the 4.6 just like 4.5. lights and shadows go wacky, and when you walk some walls will just light up. its really lame.

maybe the people who make thief(dont know company) need to patch it?

the cat4.6's are awesome, on MP_brecourt in CoD i got about 10 more FPS(that is one of the more demanding maps)

i like it.

eidos laid off most of the guys at ion storm after thief shipped. so i think we are screwed. wouldn't be such a big deal if there was such a thing as a quick catalyst switcher or some kind of tool that used a different catalyst for a certain game.

I read the xbox version has a bug that wont let you switch difficulty, :)

Well I noticed huge improvment in Halo. I haven't tried anything else yet. But my card still OC's just as well under the 4.6 Cats.

Thief 3 is having problems. Not ATI. Seems to be a general concensus that there needs to be a patch. Have seen problems posted on many other forums with this game. Google and look at the problems yourself to know.

now to wait for the omega version...

omegas take wayyyyyyyyyy too long to come out, by the time he gets 4.6's done we will be on 5.0! :/

notice on the front page "Last updated: May 18th" haha

actually being that Omega himself is a Catalyst beta tester and he gets alotta help from ATi in the first place it usually only takes about a week tops for the omega versions to come out...i like the omegas actually, very nice driver set, fixes some problems here and there that ATi didnt quite have time to get around to on the official set ;)

not to mention all the cool little goodies thats packed with em too....

I understand the Omegas are a little better performing, is this correct? And are these performance gains do to a drop in IQ or just through real enhancement?

Go take a look when the 4.5 Cats were officially released. Omega is very quick on putting his drivers out.

actually the omega's turn up IQ just a tad for very tiny performance hit, if any hit at all....as i said earlier he's a beta tester AND gets a tad more than just "inside info" about the drivers from ATi themselves...so i'd think its safe to say that they're prolly the best 3rd party drivers that you'll ever lay hands on

i might have to give them a go at somepoint then, I have never tried them out even though a lot of people rave about em...

do your games play any differently though? I dont really care too much about benchmark results....but if gameplay has improved then thats gr8...

depends on what game you are refering to. I noticed a jump in NFS: Underground. But then again, my games always looked great with this card. the DX 9 Games look sweet. I'll test it out on Deus Ex:Invisible War later.
I never just go on synthetic Benches.

Wasn't there supposed to be Temporal AnitLaising in this driver or not?

why should he waste his time updateing the page if he has nothing new to post?
and the last drivers came out less then 1 week after the 4.5's were officially released.. that's not WAYYYYY too long in my book....

One thing I noticed when I loaded my Catalyst 4.6's is that the Overdrive tab showed up on my X800Pro. I thought the X800Pro didn't support overdrive? I know with the 4.5 cats the Overdrive tab didn't show up. I've read that on the net here and there. Some sites claim that the X800 series doesn't do it at all. Other's claim that the X800XT's are the only ones in the X800 series that do.

Well I guess the Pro's do too. Sure works on my system.

I'm loving 4.6, especially in OpenGL based gams. In Kotor there were some areas where the game ran fine and others where the frame rates dropped into the teens. Since going to 4.6 its butter smooth all the time. Great Job ATI.

Well should have not spoke so soon, the areas in KOTOR that brought my system to a hault with the 4.3-4.5 Cat's run perfectly fine with the 4.6's. I assumed it didn't because of how one of the Cantina's was running, but it happened to be because someone switched my AA to 6x.

Omegas are a must for me, can't oc 9600 w/o them. Well to my limited knowledge.

You're right, i think the 9200se, 9600se, and 9600 are clock locked in the ATi drivers.
