Case recommendations ($30-100)

I recommend either the Coolermaster Centurion 590, Coolermaster 690, or Antec 300. I would advise against the Thermaltake M9 as it's of fairly poor quality.
 
Do you think that my GeForce 9800gtx would fit in the 590? They say the length is 10.5".
 
How would i install a Corsair VX450 to the 590? Does the fan face up or down?

Either way works. If you look carefully, the place where the PSU would go has an open grill. So the PSU can draw air from underneath the case.
 
Always have been confused about fan setup. So, don't those 120mm singe fan PSU's blow outward not inward meaning it really couldn't draw air unless you opened up the PSU and reversed it, correct?

Air is being drawn through the many holes and spaces inside of a case when the fans exhaust/blow outward. In other words, the fans are moving the hot air outside of the case and that action forces cool air to replace the hot air.
 
I was actually thinking of getting the Antec 300 b/c of the free shipping. Those cases cost so much to ship, like $20. It looked almost at good as the Cooler Master 590, and also might get the combo with the Antec Neo Power 500w. The only problem is I heard that it isn't too compatible with Asus mobo's unless it was fixed.
 
Cooler Master 690? extremely nice case, and at newegg it is often on sale and with free shipping.
 
I definitely would grab the Centurion 590 as I think its a nice bit of kit. The CM690 has too many plastic parts on it, and I'm not a fan of the plastic hard drive caddies.

My rig in the signature is currently in the Centurion 590. Don't worry long cards will fit as I put a GTX 260. From the looks of things you can even put in cards longer than the 4870x2. Here are some pictures of the computer...keep in mind I changed out the side panel for the windowed version.








I'm going to work on the cabling in the future. I went from a Stacker 830 to this. I guess I could elaborate on why I did this...
 
Wow, that does look sickbut idk if I can fit it in my budget atm. The cost to ship it is around $20 so it ends up being $100 for it and wanted some fans for it. :rolleyes: Does look like one of the best cases for the price though.
 
Just curious, where are you looking that the case comes out to $100 shipped? I bought mine locally for 64.99 (Directron) and I saw on newegg that it was 49.99.

If you live near a Fry's, Microcenter, Tigerdirect, Compusa they should have it in the store. Good luck in your search.
 
Every computer store is no where near me anymore... it really sucks. Then, I could just pick it up and not have to pay a ton for shipping.
 
Antec 300 for sure.It is only what $55shipped from the egg still.
I picked one up and it is roomy for a mid tower case.

Dont worry about cards fitting in the case.Just bust out the ole dremel and hack that hard drive cage up to where your card will fit.I gotta see how my 9800gtx is gonna fit in my antec 300.If it is easy to get the pci cable in then I'll leave it alone
