i've been considering putting together a home file server slash occasional movie player for a long long time now and I think it's about that time to "shit or get off the pot."

My only concern is power supply requirements. I'm looking at a foxconn case that comes with a 300W power supply. i'm not sure if it will work or not and have my eye on a 430w antec earthwatts psu otherwise.

the rig would be:
4850e amd x2 processor
gigabyte 780g amd motherboard
2 x 1gb sticks ram
3 x 750gb hdd
1 x 80gb hdd
1 x dvd-rw
1 x 80mm case fan
maybe another case fan or two

sorry if these "will it work" posts arent cool/frowned upon... I tried to find some info online but its hard to tell whats what and most psu calculators i found were REAL outdated

Besides Antec and some Coolermaster cases, rarely does the PSU that comes with a case is a good one. So what Foxconn case w/ PSU are you looking at?

Probably this one:

15A on the +12V rail? Ditch it. Too weak of a PSU for that kind of setup.

wow that is an amazing deal, thanks device manager!

that case is much taller than the matx foxconn but with a deal like that screw the novelty of a small case.

Thanks for your input guys
