I'm looking for advice on a card that won't be handicapped by my CPU. I have a 17" CRT and will be upgrading to a 23" LCD sooner or later. Don't make fun of me, but I want to play cataclysm over winter break and not have FPS problems in raids and would like to see some detail in the same. Can you guys suggest the best card that wouldn't be handicapped by CPU, as well as a mediocre option that can do what I want.

AMD X3 720 @ 3.2
4GB Ram
Win7 64-bit
7200rpm drive

What PSU do you have?
What case do you have?
What your max budget for a GPU?

thought I covered all the questions sorry...

antec ea650

coolermaster centurion 590

I suppose around $150, willing to move if it's really worth it.

In that price range, you should be looking at the HD 6870.

Yes what they said; you can also go with a GTX 560; my brother has that on his system with an Intel Q9550 and he is able to run World Of Warcraft Cataclysm @ 60 FPS easily with a resolution of 1680x1050.
