I have unchecked everything in PM settings and am still getting them
How is this possible?
 
Try the old reliable solution....clear cookies and temp files. Reboot and log back on....that should take care of it.
 
If the top button isn't disabling PM's for you, try checking the one on the bottom:

Not sure why the top one wouldn't be working, but maybe you can at least limit it to people you want to hear from.
 
erm, let me get one thing straight here
if I UNCHECK "Enable Private messaging" - blank box, its disabled - right?
I had unchecked everything in PM and visitor - all blank boxes
So now, I have checked (PM) only from contacts and admin box. And checked only contacts and admin. box (visitor)
We'll see what happens.
No big thing
 
You do click save settings, and not the back button, right? :D

I only ask because I have gotten used to a few weirder things of android, lol.

supposedly only mods and contacts can PM me now

So I can receive but not send, fwiw
I have now again unchecked all boxes in PM and visitor - and saved
