Folding@Home Client Shutdown at user request.

Folding@Home Client Shutdown.

Try to delete and reinstall the client. Something might be borked by the updates.

do the config again. Change the option on "Use IE settings" to no. This is a known issue with IE7.

Don’t delete the client!

Do make sure you are not using IE settings.

Do wait a while, might take hours of a day, but the odds are it will send.

Stanford has had a few issues the past two weeks and that could account for this, we have seen it before.

The other problem is Team #15.

It’s been our long experience here at the [H] that Team #33 work units go through much easier;)

it seems as though one of the work units got sent today while i was at work, that was # 3 but # 2 still will not send, i did redo the config deal this afternoon, we will see what happens.

2 other questions if i may, what is the proper way to shut down the SMP, i just hit control+C, but when i restart it later it warns me about "improper shut down"

would changing the onboard NIC i am useing have anything to do with my troubles, not sure if i have been plugging my cat5 into the same jack, just kinda wondered about that ?

maybe i will try that loopback adapter deal i read about also.

and sorry, but i have been with team 15 since before F@H, i can't leave my homies now :)

thanks, you guys rock :D

Just ignore the message, the SMP is beta so sometime, they babble garbage no matter what.

If you have some WU still struck in the upload queue, you can force it by doing fah -send all.

i didn't really do anything to fix it, but it seems to be sending work back anyways, thanks, i just wanted to update this to help anyone else who had similar issues.

I'm not sure why, but with Vista, the recommendation is to put the program in a unique folder, like this:

c:\smp

He's running XP64 instead of Vista so you don't have the permissions problems that Vista has.

how do you go about changing "Using IE Connectivity" to no? mine is set as yes and i cant find anywhere to change it, install.bat nor client.cfg

use the -configonly option to rest your parameters. Make sure you change the team number to #33 while you're at it, like was mentioned above. :)

Are you starting F@H by using a shortcut, using the command prompt, or are you directly starting the .exe file?

use the command prompt, navigate to your directory where your FAH is located (assuming you're using the SMP and not the console), and type the executable <space> -configonly. For example, in linux your line would look like:

./fah6 -configonly

If you're in windows, it would be:

fah6 -configonly

This allows you to adjust any of the parameters associated with the executable, name, team number, proxy, use IE settings, etc. When you've completed your config adjustments, it will then stop, and you can run the execuatable normally.

If you're using the console, then substitute the proper executable file for "fah6"

Hope this helps.

This is pissing me off. I know patience...

but I've been having seemingly a lot of problems sending the past day or so.

BTW, when I'm looking at the GPU clients "Status...Queue Info"
There are 3 things:
Empty = duh
Ready=- ? not sure assume its a completed work unit or a work unit being worked on
Done = ? I assume its a WU complete and possibly uploaded, but if its already been sent shouldn't it be deleted & thus Empty?

example:
