have you installed SP1 for XP? USB 2.0 was not supported until that update

i have xp mce with sp2 installed, im thinking the microsoft drivers maybe giving me problems so im hoping to try the via ones.

the ones on the via website dont have xp drivers included in their download, i read something about the xp drivers for usb 2.0 only available by cd with hardware, i dont remember getting any cd with my usb 2.0 card.

i could just buy another usb 2.0 card with a different chipset but i thought it should not be hard to get newer drivers from via but seems i was wrong.

thanks for the replies guys

uninstall the root hub from device manager and restart. windows should detect the hub again and reinstall the driver. if that doesn't work, then i'm all out of ideas... sorry.

hi

i have already tried that and it installs the same driver and still i have the same problems.

looks like a new usb card is needed with a different chipset

cheers
