Computer hackers are often limited by conventional computer hardware. They may request "faster" video cards, and larger hard drives, or even more memory. If your son starts requesting these devices, it is possible that he has a legitimate need. You can best ensure that you are buying legal, trustworthy hardware by only buying replacement parts from your computer's manufacturer. If your son has requested a new "processor" from a company called "AMD", this is genuine cause for alarm. AMD is a third-world based company who make inferior, "knock-off" copies of American processor chips. They use child labor extensively in their third world sweatshops, and they deliberately disable the security features that American processor makers, such as Intel, use to prevent hacking. AMD chips are never sold in stores, and you will most likely be told that you have to order them from internet sites. Do not buy this chip! This is one request that you must refuse your son, if you are to have any hope of raising him well.

Didn't anyone ever tell you that not everything on the internet is true?

duh i know that i couldn't think of a good title

whoever this parent is, should get a clue about what his talking about, or what he THINKS his talking about.

AHAHAHahAHHAahAHAH :D

2. Are you finding programs on your computer that you don't remember installing?
Your son will probably try to install some hacker software. He may attempt to conceal the presence of the software in some way, but you can usually find any new programs by reading through the programs listed under "Install/Remove Programs" in your control panel. Popular hacker software includes "Comet Cursor", "Bonzi Buddy" and "Flash".
OK, now that is totally unfair! It could be the parents own fault for those showing back up.

6. Does your son use Quake?
Quake is an online virtual reality used by hackers. It is a popular meeting place and training ground, where they discuss hacking and train in the use of various firearms. Many hackers develop anti-social tendencies due to the use of this virtual world, and it may cause erratic behavior at home and at school.
Again, WTF? Its just a videogame! And who plays the original Quake anymore in the first place? :p

8. Is your son obsessed with "Lunix"?
The least they could do is spell it right...

Nice joke :D

QUAKE 1 IS THE GREATEST VIDEO GAME EVAR!!!!

actually there might be a forum rule about writing a post in all caps...don't remember off the top of my head :D.

Hahahahahahaha... bite me! at first i was outrage then i was luffing tears came rolling down then i felt pity...not for the father but for his children. We just got robbed off a few future hackers because of him...hahahahahahahahah, rofl, lol....hahahaha more

Most American families use trusted and responsible Internet Service Providers, such as AOL

LMAO!

This is a parody in itself

then the entire site is satire.

but i dont think it is/was. it looks like it was a total propaganda machine. but it could be easily mistaken for satire, that's how bad it is.

Apache 2.0 - Still Not a Contender?
Security, Microsoft, and You
DVD vs. VHS: The Surprising Truth
Debunking the Holocaust Hoax
C++ Should Be the Only Programming Language

i'm not sure if it is really dry sarcasm or really extreme propaganda. some of those articles are WAY out there.

Adequacy.org launched on July 4th, 2001 with great fanfare and enjoyed a fantastically successful run until it was mysteriously shut down on September 11, 2002 under conditions which the staff are forbidden to reveal
ooh, mysterious, closed down on 9/11! i'm not buying that crap. if they were really "shut down", why would the mysterious group let them have an archive, and let them post that information?

i out techno you (cf). and ozzi your only a hacker because of your ability to make pants tents whilst ocing :p

That articles been around a long time, and I've never been sure if the authors are just writting crap to stir people up, or if they are really terribly ignorant adults.

The VHS vs DVD and Console Wars articles are hillarious.

See, what was funny to me about that was picturing the 8 year old third world sweat shop children who are extremely skilled computer engineers working in clean rooms running a processor fabrication facility. Just...picture the fly covered feed the children emaciated kids in clean suits making chips. C'mon. That's GOTTA be funny to somebody besides me.

After reading some of the comments I'd say this article was really about how gamers cannot detect sarcasm.

yeah, read that last year - it is SO scary what some people "THINK" they know - morons, some people should be banned from the internet - it sucks that people can make their own websites.

i would love to meet this person in real life.

love the comments ppl made on that article, will probly read them all..

"Luke, use the Force" - some dude from Star Wars

well, I TRIED to read the "car" one by the same author... more bs.. feels like I am reading something I wrote for class.. lol BS, while making it flow.

ahh, the "exemplary" american family - with values, I might add...hahaha

This was actually pretty funny to me until one point... The point where I realized that I know adults that are really THAT ignorant. They really think that sort of stuff, and believe it to be true. Sadly, I have to admit that my mother would probably be lumped into this group if it weren't for the fact that my brothers and I beat technical jargon into her brain on a consistent basis. While she doesn't understand what the hell we're talking about, she at least knows to sift through the BS. :)
