So about a month ago, I had to RMA my ballistix ram because it had died from over heating. Since then, I've cleaned up the cables, formatted my main HD, gotten two new high airflow fans, and got a high performance cooler for my video card. But I still seem to have problems with graphic stuttering in games like WoW. It probably freezes once every 15 minutes and normal game play resumes.

I'm still guessing heat is an issue somewhere, but where? I think my problem areas are 1 stick of ram and my northbridge (DFI Lan Party SLI DR). The ram is not actively cooled (pretty much because there's no room to place a fan) but never gets too hot to touch, and, according to the nvidia monitor tool, my northbridge generally runs around 45-47C. CPU never gets above 40C, and the GPU now doesn't go farther than 60C on a full load.

It does not sound like a heat problem. Normal play would not resume.

I would guess interupt sharing, mouse polling etc but I play DAOC and know nothing about WoW. I would check WoW related tech forums on the VN boards if such a thing exists. It could even be video driver, sometimes latest is not greatest for some specific games.

Hmm, ok, thx for the info.

Anyone know what the max temp would be for a northbridge chip?

They're usually around 70*C some can go higher others are lower, not certain for that NB though.
