Cannot get nic to work in windows

Motherboard: GA-M61PM-S2

Nvidia 430/6100 chipset, tried drivers from gigabyte and nvidia. Using the nvidia downloaded drivers it flags the nic in the device manager. Using gigabyte's download it shows as working but cannot obtain ip via dhcp, static applied but did not allow for any network function (internet/ping)

I used a ubuntu live session to verify the NIC works, it did.

Fresh install of XP, no dice. Installed linksys usb200m nic, works great. Installed driver by the .msi and tried selecting the ini specifically, neither worked. Used driver sweeper and reinstalled, no dice. Used window's update and obtained drivers from there, no dice.

So what we know from that:
Windows can function with a nic (linksys usb200m)
The nvidia nic works in linux, but unable to in windows.

There's a chance you have the wrong drives for the card.

Try the following:

1- Go to: Control Panel - System - Hardware(tab), and click on Device Manager.
2- Look for the NIC, go to its properties and look for the "details" tab. There you'll find some info related to the device, and then maybe you'll be able to get the correct drivers for it.
It will look like this: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_10F5&SUBSYS_02331028&REV_03\3&61AAA01&0&C8
3- Google results
 
Try installing the chipset drivers from the manufacturer.
