Wanting to buy 32 GB of ram, so I am trying to get an idea here.

Can you use the same brand, but different model, same speed?

For example

Hyperx Black and Hyperx Predator, all 8GB modules, same speed, obviously different model? Or will that cause me harm? I've heard mixed things, that you can, and then you shouldn't. Thoughts please? Thank you.

on Ryzen I would say no, on Intel it will likely work without issues. You may have to play with it using the lowest speed/timinngs

Its a a no no if you want to OC your ram as it wil be limited

At this point I wouldn't even try to mix models; however, if you stick to JEDEC profiles (i.e. 2133) instead of using XMP settings- which is technically overclocking the memory controller- you should be able to get it booting.

Then, raise speeds/lower timings. Might need to bump voltage a little too.
