Hello all, just curious what fps would be achieved with an 8800gtx in CSS stress test all settings maxed out at 1280x1024, I'm not thinking of buying one I just want to see how ridiculous the results will be, I knew someone who had an x1900xtx who got like 250fps or something,so yeah ty whoever is willing to do this:)

specs under gaming rig BFG 8800GTX (Stock) in 1280x1024 maxed out game settings.

For comparison, my E6400 and 7900GS video card (both overclocked see sig) get 245 fps at 1280x1024 with trilinear filtering, HDR enabled, and everything else maxed

Do you guys have vsync on by any chance?

My 8800 GTX gets 59.xx fps with the stress test 1600x1200, 4xAA, vsync enabled. 60 Hz LCD.

LOL they obviously dont have Vsync on or thier running some alien technology in thier monitors:D . You get that because vsync is limiting your FPS to your refresh rate.

Settings: 1680x1050 resolution, fps_max variable set to 999 (so there's no real limit on framerate in Source), 4x AA with super-sampling transparency enabled, 16x HQ mode AF enabled, max in-game details.

SPECS:

Run on Windows XP Pro SP2 (yeah, I dumped Vista for a few since my SageTV PVR wasn't working well with it)
Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 3.42ghz/core (380FSBx9multiplier)
eVGA 8800GTS 640MB @ 600core/1400shaders(sp)/2000ram
2x1GB (2GB total) OCZ Platinum XTC DDR2 PC2-6400 RAM @ 380mhz
Asus P5W DH Deluxe 975X Motherboard
(drives, etc.)

...all stuffed into a modded X-Qpack to take ATX boards :D.

Yeah, these things are ridiculous ;)! I know it's not 1280x1024 with the settings you asked, but this is to give you an idea of scaling as you go with these.

No pics available at the moment, but under Vista Ultimate, X2 cpu at 2.6ghz, 2gb of ram, and an 8800GTS, I get 168fps...yeah seems low eh? But that is at a whopping 4xAA, 16xAF, all settings maxed, and 1920x1200 resolution :D When Nvidia gets better drivers out, that will improve even more....but shit man, anything over 60fps is not usable, and I run the game with vsync ON for smooth tearfree performance at 60fps, and it never budges from that, ever.

Not quite a GTX, but a GTS Superclocked. The rest of the specs are in my sig.

Running at 1280x1024 with 4x MSAA and 16x AF:

Has the Source Engine gone multicore yet? How could my system get thrashed so badly?

7600GT 650/1600 @ 1280x1024 4xAA/16xAF all options high

It's amazing how much faster the new G80 cards are. I think my old 7800GT only got around 120-130fps with the same settings.
