Can I overclock?

I have an amd 2200+ xp running on a k7s6a motherboard. I want to overclock it if I can but don't know where to begin. I've searched around the forums etc but i'm still stumped.
Some say I can alter the multiplier using jumpers on the motherboard but I can't find where or how.
I can't seem to find any settings in my bios for cpu overclocking.
Some threads say that I might have to unlock my cpu using conductive ink or a strip thing before I can overclock it.
Any hints etc will be greatly welcomed.

Go into bios and look for an option called frequency or Advanced options.

under 'freqeuncy and voltage control' that might be useful is 'CPU Host/SDRAM/PCI clock' currently its set to '133/133/33' (from memory).
I can't see anything like 'fsb' or 'multiplier' etc
I've already set my ram to very aggresvie timings (last week) though and it seems faster and stable.

The thing you need to look for is an AGP locke, which should be set to 66mhz, or PCI lock set to 33mhz. If you dont have locks on your board (which I doubt you do) your not going to be doing much overclocking. OCing with a AGP lock can cause lots of instability early on and damage your graphics card if you go to high.

I said be kind! I can't really afford a new mobo (or other components) right now, hence wanting to oc what I have!

Well, I am not saying give up now, I just dont think your board has it. Check the bios, if you cant find it see if you cant find a review of the board where someone else evaluates overclocking on it

That was kind. You have an ancient motherboard with very limited OC capabilities. Your chip may or may not be able to do much past stock. If it's a Tbred-A, you might as well pack in the band wagon now, because you aren't going anywhere. If It's a Tbred-B, you may be able to get some good clocks out of it with a real motherboard.
