I am inclined to think yes in the long term because with my current 17 drives in my server I am only pulling about 190w idle to 250w load but I am concerned about the massive spike at bootup, right now it can hit about 650w.

Thoughts?

Oh well my desktop specs in my sig are for my workstation.

My server is a 3.2GHz P4 with an Intel server motherboard (integrated gfx, etc)

But that is good to know. I might try to cut out some of the little drives and keep it around 20 tops.

It can run 21 drives no problem, and if you are using multiple cards they will spinup at different times, also within most good cards you set staggered spinup so you dont have to worry about such issues.

I have a PCP&P 750 on my server and its rock solid although only running 8 drives now, im barely pulling 200w. So I feel confident it could run 24.

Isn't the wattage rating on those continuous draw at 40C? At boot it won't be that hot internally, and you'd be having spikes, not continuous, so it should be plenty fine, especially if the drives are spinning up at different times.
