My mom is looking to purchase a new camera. She had an APS Canon Elph, but it took a dump on her and now she is wanting to buy a digital camera. One of her friends has a Panasonic Lumix and she wants one of those, but I thought I would ask on here if there is something better in the $300 price range that is comparable or better as far as size, picture quality, and ease of use goes. She is a technotard and needs something that is easy. What do you guys suggest?

Thanks

Any specific model of Lumex? Their compact series with IS is supposed to be pretty good. Did she like the size and feel of the Elph?

She didnt mention the model. She said it was $300 at a local camera store with "a 2 pack." I think she means memory cards...lol

Well, without a model it's hard to say anything really specific, but they're generally good cameras.

Id hit up dpreview.com and, see which model she might be talking about. You might find it cheaper there.
