It all depends if you can run big packets or not.
I've only got 31.6 Ghz which should only give me just over 50 Points per Hour.
But because I run big packets on all my folders I'm getting around 100 Points per Hour.

Catching up on Sharp slowly.......

Luck.......... :D

awesome!...is there a way to request big-packets only?

and how do i get big-packets on my A64? i used the "No-nonsense text only console (with service installer)" download to install it as a service...how do i reconfig it?

wow, sucks for the time constraints.

are you serious, all you have is 3 boxen and you're beating me??

i have an A64 3200+ (2.1 GHz) running 5hrs/day (sucks, parents...)
AMD Duron 900MHz running 12hrs/day (guess who again!)
p2 running 12hrs/day (thanks, mom and dad)
then four p3's (i think they're p3's, could be p2's  i'll check tomorrow) borged at school, running 24/7
one borged A64 3200+ (2.0GHz) running, borged, at 16hrs/day
and a borged p4 (2.31GHz) runs 24/7...

that's about, roughly, 10GHz :(
i will beat you :D

Yeah, I'm running only 3 boxen. You can look it up on the Stanford site.

Anyway, two of the boxes have a gig of RAM and the Duron has 512, so that may have something to do with it. Oh, my Athlon64 actually runs at 2.1Ghz, not 2.0. Doesn't make a big difference, but every little bit helps. I tried to overclock the XP, but it kept kicking out packets early, so I had to put it back to stock speeds. Oh yeah, my wife also is busy with the baby, so she doesn't use the computers much, and I don't use my computer much due to school/work, so pretty much they're running 24/7 uninterrupted. Maybe 23/7. The Duron was mine but I gave it to my sister with the explicit condition that she let Folding@home run 24/7. She was cool with that.

All you have to do is convince some of those people to run the computers 24/7 and you'll more than likely bump up your PPD greatly.

true true...

god but p2/p3's take FOREVER to put out a WU...

go to the directory where folding at home is. Create a shortcut to the console with the flag -configonly and then go through it. Also you can edit the registry to the program and add the -advmethods flag after the -svcstart flag.

CarnivalForces, here is another way to set up your regedits.

The shortcut way is the easyist way to change all your entry type of settings.

congratulations on passing me, Leadman, but don't get too comfortable... ;)

you do know that he is a member of DivX forums and probably has some steroid injected rigs right?

what's the significance of being a member of DivX forums? and how does that relate to "steroid-injected rigs"??

Mostly that those guys have rigs that will destroy just about anything a hardcore gamer can come up with. That there encoding takes some horsepower!

Hit the nail on the head. I went into the forums once and all I saw were dual xeons/opterons all the way up to quad/8 way Xeons/Opterons.

holy shit

...

i gotta get me some of those! :D

Congratulations...you finally passed me.

Maybe when I buy a house, I'll be able to build myself a "Folding-Farm-In-A-Box" project that I've been thinking about. Basically, 5-6 fast processors, motherboards (integrated video), a couple of power supplies, hub and one hard drive in the smallest possible box with some fan blowing in for cooling...

The tales grow as they are told. Video encoding, like folding, will have 100% CPU usage, for an extended period of time. The top [H]orde folder at Divx.com, Phunky_Monkey, uses over 45 mac G4's to boost the teams production. You should enjoy the opportunity to pass me, and build a gap. Once I get this silly A64 3400+ @ 2,519 dialled in, I will rebuild my P4, that lived on QMD's for 3 weeks. At 3.6 GHz it ran 450 point QMD's in 20 hours or less. Wonder what it will take to run these cores at 4.4GHz? Only one way to find out I guess.

did you say 4.4GHz, as in, "pwnage" ?

lol, *gotta build the gap*, *gotta build the gap*

As in the silly Lightspeed, I've been too chicken to install yet. Trying to get this dang A64 set up to run as a home server. The board doesn't care for the RAID drivers much. It wants to drop the MBR onto an IDE drive, before allowing OS install on Raptor array. Crashed windows a half dozen times, because the board refuses to accept 4 DDR chips at once. Right now it's folding with evaluation copy of XPPro X64. All my favorite free programs, detect this OS as server class, and refuse to load, until I pay (not happening). 64 bit driver support is kinda slim right now. Probly have to dump this install, and go back to XPPro X86, at least I can fight with drivers that will install. Hate trashing a WU, so I'll wait till this one completes, and refuse new one.

aww, hope you get it setup soon...i've got a 2.6GHz p4 b0rg planned for tomorrow

what pointer WU is it?

343. My P4 3.06A about to finish another 450 point QMD, it takes this box @ 30 hours to finish a 450 pointer, I need my big P4 back up.

heh wow

i really gotta build that lead :(

i don't think i'm gonna keep it.

wtf does QMD mean.

This can probably go unsaid, but like your sig says, you best get your borg on!
