I'll be happy if my Video Card & Motherboard comes to me in one peice, SAYING that he even had it to begin with, EVEN IF HE DOES HAVE IT, I am not cancelling my PayPal claim. Muahahahahhahaa!

YES finally we have him in custody!! now we just need to file our local report against him!

has anyone had any experience filing in canada? just call RCMP? please do share your experience if you have any!

From here

In Quebec, Royal Canadian Mounted Police Commercial Fraud sections do not investigate frauds against the general public unless they are major frauds that are national or international in scope, like fraudulent telemarketing. Since Internet fraud is a “traditional” offence that is committed using electronic communication means, the RCMP is of the opinion that these investigations come within the purview of local police departments.

Sounds like you need to contact your local police department and have them notify the Pulaski County Sheriffs.

If I could get an officer to escort me to his home, document the packages and escort me to the post office I would ship them out.

that sounds good to me. He ows me a E6550 CPU OEM no fan.

Sorry I was just thinking out loud. There are tons of issues with my idea and it would never be allowed to happen. Just trying to think of what I could do to help you guys since I'm 2hrs away from him.

Yeah, I dunno. You should go dig thru his house for us. :p

While it's good to hear that they found a pile of boxes and all and he's in jail "crying" his heart out (pshaw), the fact of the matter is, nobody knows if their stuff exists. He offered some pretty good deals; I'd be willing to pay to get mine, but again, I can't tell if he lied to me about owning what he offered, shipped it and lost it, or never shipped it in the first place.

Best case scenario, he printed a label, gave me the DC, and never shipped it. In that case, it may be sitting in his house and maybe I can get it shipped to me. Worse case, it never existed or is actually lost.

The one detective withheld contact info, which sucks. I emailed Gaston who "took an interest in the case", but I'm thinking he's going to tell me he needs a local police report to confirm if my shipment exists or not. Of course, if he would just go check, it'd be great, but I'm sure there's a bunch of legal steps that need to be taken.

Good luck everyone.

If SSS is on the case, then this scammer doesn't have a chance.

I know for a fact he sold me a e6550 and someone else the same chip. I just want my freaking chip man... I cant play videogames!!!

I will go to my PD tomorrow and fill out a complaint there and stuff too. I will also be calling him and seeing if he will get my cpu shipped or refund my money in exchange for me to not press charges. BUT IM GONNA DO IT ANYWAY MUAHAHAHAHHA

I was the other person who was supposed to be sent an e6550.

wish all you best of luck, i got scammed a while back by a dave richer or something like that. Once he got in custudy there was enough complaints that he was found guilty, took about 6 months after he got charged, but i got my 500+ dollars back.

I'd much rather have my product...but I went and filed a police report yesterday at my local PD. They are trying to have it ready for Monday for faxing.

SON OF A B(%(%!@#(%^
He has my laptop... He told me it had problems with the lcd and wifi when he got it... so i told him just to send it back.
(I shipped first.... =()
i still haven't recieved it.

This guy is gonna go away for a very long time... that is if he can be found.:(

Dood, I know the thread's long, but they have the guy in jail right now...from what I understand, on something unrelated, but the police are very interested in him nonetheless.

Just for a heads up here....

He purchased one of my E6550's. He left heat within three days of me shipping it out saying all was good. Then I get a PM on the 9th saying that he thought it was bad. Said he had to test the motherboard, but RAM and Video were good. Haven't heard back from him since. I think I know why now ;)

So, I don't know what kind of scam he was going to try and pull with me, but just thought I would post that little info for those of you who may have been waiting for the E6550 that was possibly the one he got from me.

I am also not trying to say anything was going to happen either, it is possible that he got a bad CPU, but unlikely. I test each and every item I sell to make sure it works first.

You arnt the first person he bought something from only for him to say its bad and ask for money back. Its happened at least once that I remember through this loooong thread.

Just wanted to add myself to the list of people who got the shaft. Sold him my PSP. He paid for 3/4 of it. Still owes me $15. Probably not worth the effort to get it though. Didn't realize this thread expanded so much since the last I looked.

For Canadians:
I have filed my complaint using the phonebusters and they provided me a case number... The case info can be accessed by any law enforcement around the world by using the case number. I forwarded the case number to Sergeant Denney by email and asked him if there is anything more that I can do. I suggest everyone file the complaints the same way.

I will update the victim list later today.. Ive been this weekend

I have updated the victim list, the money owed has offically surpassed $4k

dont let LF get away with this! file your complaints locallly NOW so they can forward them to the Pulaski County Sheriff and have Chris Chartier prosecuted. Canadians, please check my previous post for info on reporting complaint using the phonebusters hotline

Everyone else, please update us on the status of filing your own complaints locally

Thanks for clearing that up man. MAY HE ROT IN PRISON :D

The fact that he was messaging (it seems like everyone and anyone) who put up a WTB thread with whatever it was they wanted, selling everything for almost too good to be prices, and just the sheer number of people who never got their stuff I would assume means that he didn't just "get too many orders that he couldn't ship them out". He has received over $4000 dollars in items he was supposed to ship out. He also bought quite a bit of stuff and tried to get the money back from it because "it no worky".

I'm also not sure, but I think you have to pay the shipping price to get the shipping number from USPS, is that correct? Or do you pay it when you drop off the package?

Anyways, even if he has boxes with peoples names on them at his house, why was he selling so many things for such good prices? Why was he targeting Canadians? Why would he try to do near 30 transactions in 2 or so weeks and not even try and ship the majority of them? If he was actually trying to ship all this stuff out and wasn't actually trying to scam people, then I think he has some serious issues with how the real world works. But I really don't think that's it. I think that everyone here should seriously believe that they aren't getting their stuff, and get your police reports in so that you actually have a chance of getting your money back.

Question #1: You can walk into most USPS locations and get stacks of forms and Express of Priority envelopes and boxes, and walk right out. Items like this are paid for when used (with the exception of the boxes and envelopes for Priority and Express...those are actually free because USPS is the only carrier you can use them with).

Why was he targeting Canadians: Probably because he assumed they would have a harder time going after him. On the flip side, he wasn't smart enough to consider that crossing international boundaries with a fraud scheme involves the feds...on both sides...not smart

think he has some serious issues with how the real world works

agreed.

In contrary, I don't think he was targetting Canadians, there were only about 5 victims in Canada out of 30ish.. I Just think he was trying to scam anyway possible, scam anyone.. but yeah dumb enough to not think about the international fraud part.

Well in any case, he was taken off to jail for something completely unrelated to all this, but now it's simply a matter of getting enough claims to keep him there. I think what's actually really sad is that this wasn't some mastermind actually working to scam people, he was exactly who he said he was, a 19 yr old kid who got in over his head and now is sitting in jail weeping because he has $4000 in defrauded money sitting in a Paypal account, and now he's been caught over something unrelated but is going to get stuck with this.

Almost feel sorry for the guy, except that he has basically stolen almost $4000 dollars. Oops. To all the victims, I hope you get your money back. Definitely seems like you will though.

Wait, am I the only one who noticed the part that said "a bunch of boxes with addresses, looks like to everyone on the list"? Would anybody be interested in actually getting what he was selling instead of their money back?

He gave me a helluva deal; I'd actually be fine if they just shipped me my stuff.

Was there supposed to be a correlation between the officer who took the case and the fact that the officer deals with child abuse cases?

I would almost bet my left one that there was never such item to begin with. :(

That's what I was thinking. The fact that he was selling an E6550 to 3 different people, buying things and reporting them ALL not working and wanting his money back, sending people messages as soon as they posted a WTB thread.... I would guess that those boxes were probably empty to begin with.

sucks to find out so many of us got screwed by this guy. I've been severely ill the past 5 days, but this is exactly the news I thought I would find since I have yet to receive anything.

I would almost bet my left one that there was never such item to begin with. :(

Would you now? I'll hold you to that, lol. :p

Beyond the E6650 or E6600 or whatever it is, there are no duplicate sales. Really IF his story is true and that is a huge IF, maybe he did really have a bunch of stuff to buy and sell. IF he's getting $6k bonuses from the Army (what a great place for our tax dollars to go...-_-); he MIGHT be telling the truth.

I dunno, he got caught and sent to jail, so we'll know eventually. Really, I just want someone to call, like the cops or whatever, to go and check if there's a box labeled to me and whether or not my stuff's inside. Ship it out to me and I'd be satisfied. I'd even pay what we agreed on. But I emailed one of the cops, who brushed me off, so.... :(

But true, those are big IFs. Man I really wish I lived near there so that I could drive down and check things out for myself. This whole police report thing seems like a huge hassle and all. Mind you, I did get my money back.

This is the second time that this individual has been nabbed as a bad trader. He's not just behind in shipping or in over his head - all signs point to intentionally fraudulent behavior.

He is not telling the truth. I'm sorry to be harsh, but it's that naivety and greed on the part of potential buyers that helps guys like this bring scams to new heights.

If a deal looks to good to be true...

how many people got dc from paypal? Thats what I dont get. I got my dc# from paypal which means that he had to pay for the shipping label. so why wouldnt he have sent it? the number isnt working but why not send it if you paid for shipping, unless it was ascam I send $115, he loses $ for shippng and pockets $110. just hope paypal hurries up.
