This kid has got to have at least 1000$ in money of crap he hasn't shipped. He is going to get into BIG trouble if he doesn't ship soon. I don't know the price/fraud ratio law but at 1,000$+ dollars I'm sure it increases immensely.

There is no way that your package should take almost 3 weeks to arrive.. again the similarity of the tracking numbers...
 
Anyone in Canada with a delivery confirmation like this one all numbers

0307 0020 0000 3253 5093 thats a US delivery confirmation number

any thing shipped to Canada via USPS that isnt in a regular envelope

Requires a customs form small green and white one for packages under 1 pound

and a larger white 3 page impression customs form for over 1 pound

Anything shipped out of the US to any other country requires a customs form

most customs form numbers start with 2 letters followed by a few numbers ending with 2 more letters

Hey guys, I bought a lian li case from LF about a week ago and recieved it only 2 days after I paid, I have also sold things to him and he paid quickly. I dont think he is trying to scam you I just think he is selling a little too much stuff at the same time :(

Hopefully this will all get worked out soon :)
 
I guess I'm a sucker. I have never been scammed before...:mad: I did PM him again, probably he will comeback with "I promise I did".... anyways I'll wait for tomorrow afternoon and I'll open paypal dispute, I don't think there much more I can do :(

completely bogus IMO

USPS tracking/DC numbers, no matter where the post office is, are always going to show "Status: Electronic Shipping Info Received" at minimum after a maximum of 24 hours (typically this will show up instantly or within hours)

i have seen a package be delivered to me before it changed to anything else....but that only happens when it shows up within like 2 days

the only time i have ever seen a "There is no record for this item" response is when it's only been a few hours (not days for sure) since the package was sent, or there indeed is "no record for this item"

i live in a really small podunk town too, never had a problem, i do lots of buying/selling here and on ebay, have never heard of such problems on such a large scale as this thread shows going on here

i would not ever be able to deal with this guy, even if he is a victim of circumstance by a USPS conspiracy.....:rolleyes:

Ah, Im sorry for my comment too then. I too assumed it was just him stealing a known username from another forum to make himself look good.
 
I came across this thread, and it peaked my curiosity when I found out this guy lives less than a 3 hour drive from me. Therefore I feel I must chime in.

Did one of you mention that they live in St. Louis? Or did I read that wrong?
If so, your only about 2 hours and a full gas tank from meeting him on his doorstep to talk with him. I won't condone anything else. Quickest way to resolve this.:(

If this guy is any kind of scammer, he most likely is using a fake address to begin with.
If he is a punk kid that doesn't really know WTF he is doing in the first place (and/or in way over his head), then that address may be real.
A mod might be able to prove/disprove his address based on any logs on the forum, then quickly doing a WHOIS on his IP address if this is recorded at all.

well nice that his dealings with you worked out, but his dealings here and on AT prove that this is a little beyond "selling a little too much stuff at the same time"

Lying, false DC and tracking numbers, etc is not exactly the signs of a trader just "selling a little too much stuff at the same time" they are the signs of a TROLL, and he should be dealt with and treated as a Troll. If he's not a Troll, he'll completely understand everyone's reaction because of his ACTIONS, and he'll bust his ass to make this right. NOW.

BTW plug*, I see you have a FS thread here on [H], where you list yourself as high trade status AND as a MOD over at blazePC. Well I've always wanted to check out BPC, so I reg. just to add sorme info. He told me that the item/shipping was cheap because he has free internationl shipping at his JOB. So my question is what is his problem with his post office.....that doesn't add up......:mad:

I don't understand why anyone is still sitting on the fence with this guy. Contact his local PD, escalate your PayPal and CC claims, and get on with it. You're all affording this individual too much courtesy when it's obvious that he's explicitly scamming you.

That said, hope it works out for all buyers involved.

Back on topic.

I have dealt with LF in the past and everything went perfect. I dunno if he really is a scammer. But I would have to say hes just really really in over his head. For all we know he didn't ship anything and just said he did to keep people out of his hair. I have had people tell me they shipped one day, then have the package come a week or two later with postage dated much later than expected.



Now, back to the cats

That would be me. While I would love to take a drive to his house, that never was an idea that crossed my mind and never will. I have my CCW and don't leave home without it. Meaning that there is no way in hell I would put myself in the position of confronting a scammer.

I told him that if my money wasn't refunded by 8am Monday morning that I would be filing a theft claim with his local PD and a mail fraud claim with his local post master. (Since he used a USPS tracking number that has never scanned/shipped.

I filed a claim with PayPal and escalated it ASAP.

My honest feeling after talking to him over the last week was that he was trying to scam people. He issued refunds in the hope of keeping people quiet. The longer he is able to keep people quiet the longer he is able to scam people via PM's. From searching all of his posts here, Anandtech and BPC it appears that a majority of his sales/scams were done via PM after seeing a thread where we were looking for an item.
 
so last night he said he will be back here at 10am.. what is the local time at Missouri now? Its 9:37am EST now
 
I was one of his first few trades on Heat back in July. I traded him a motherboard that supposedly worked for its last owner (However, it never worked for me) for an Athlon XP system. Anyway, I get the thing in, and it smells of smoke. The case was missing a drive bay cover, some screws, and it was pretty heavily scuffed up and dented. It DID work, but I was going to give it to a friend as a secondary computer and I wasn't going to give someone a computer in that condition.

I gave him positive feedback because that motherboard was as-is and I'd have felt bad if he would have gotten something nonworking and I got a working PC, even though it was pretty rough looking. There are probably more than a few dissatisfied with him

cat juggling is not only NOT illegal...but it's rather enjoyable as well.

on topic - wow...this is really snowballing. i had no idea. still hoping there's good cause for all of this, or an explaination

I don't understand why any of you are waiting on filing paypal disputes.
If he really has shipped, no harm, he can provide legit DC numbers to paypal.
 
Or he could have grabbed a stack of DC sheets from the post office.

How long do you plan on holding for??? I mean, he's a scmmer obvously, and is stil scamming you by getting you to wait even longer. so when he pops back in here and says hang on again, your going to wait right?

Filing a claim will only hurt him if he cannot prove anything was ever shipped, which it looks like it hasn't. As VertigoAcid, urm, Malcom said, just file the damn things!
