If you are wanting to get a sneak peek at AMD's next-gen GPU technology in action, this is your chance. Join myself and other industry talking heads on the decks of the retired aircraft carrier, the USS Hornet on September 10th from 1830 hours till 0100 hours in Alameda, CA.


You must RSVP to Monica and mention HardOCP sent you! You MUST be 21. You MUST be on the RSVP list to attend, do NOT just show up as space is limited. Do NOT RSVP then not show as your family will be hunted down with for-hire mercenaries. You MUST bring a valid government ID. You must be able to tolerate boorish and egocentric conversation from idiotic "gurus" in the industry. Certainly you MUST be willing to have a good time. (Not a take your pants off good time, but close.) Alcohol will be served. Arm wrestling is mandatory, square dancing is optional.

There WAS going to be a fast draw type shootout with full body armor and live rounds, but we opted to have alcohol served instead.

I'm from CT, but will actually be in CA (bay area) next week (through the evening of the 10th).

Do you know the following:

- I assume you mean a "government issued ID" rather than a government ID (e.g. drivers license, passport OK)
- Do we have to be there right at 18:30? Can we show up at 19:00? I could come from probably 19:00 - 20:00 or 20:30... would be interesting to see this.

Fuck sakes. Finally old enough - unfortunately too poor. Seems the tides reversed on me this year.
 
What an awesome event! Its too bad i'm way out on the east coast :/ I've been to Alameda before, 5 years ago, its pretty sweet. Enjoy this to whomever can make it. I'm looking forward to AMD's next gen very much!

GRILL THEM KYLE OH PLEAS GRILL THEM some topics, desktop 6/8/12 core, 32nm phenom II, rv 810,849,870, bulldozer, cluster multithreading, usb3 & sata 6.0 chipset & when will the 1st boards be arriving with said features this year? will amd get sli to match the intels license of sli ? the x86 dev kit for open cl does this mean amd will go x86 graphics for cpu's as well? more later
 
Time to see if I have time to do this and drag a friend while I'm at it. Its only one bridge to cross and somehow getting there early enough to avoid traffic.

I'm wondering what they will show. Have they shown all 3 price groups at a revealing? Or is this just to showcase the budget DX11 GPU? Would love to know what target areas they are showcasing at this event.

To Kyle, Are you going to be reporting from the revealing? Or is there an NDA to those who attend have to sign?

The "event" that is open to the public will not be NDA, obviously.
