Cable Management 101

So guys, I have notoriously bad cable management skills. I recently started a new computer build and hope to spend the time it takes to have a great looking case. I am hoping some of you guys would be able to provide me some pointers. Here is my current setup:

Case: Corsair Obsidian 800D
Power Supply: Corsair HX 850
Motherboard: ASUS Maximus IV Extreme
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100
HDDs: Corsair Force 3 120 gig
Hitachi Deskstar 3 TB
Video Cards: 2 HD 7970s when they come out
I have a push pull setup for my H100, and I specifically bought the 800D to encourage me not to revert to my horrible cable disaster ways. (I will provide pictures of my new rig and my old rig after I have completed the new rig to show you guys what horrible tendencies I have.)
 
With that 800D you pretty much can't do bad cable manangement even if you wanted to. Just take your time and I'm sure it'll turn out fine.

I know, but if anyone were able to fuck up an 800D's cable management, it would be me. :(
 
the 800d probably has better cable management then any other case.

basicly run all your psu cables behind the motherboard plate, use tape or something to tie the wires down.

then run the cables you need through the appropiate cable management holes
 
I put a little bit of time into working on it last night and put my fans for my H100 in a way that really shows their cords ( epic fail) going to probably redo that tonight. I will take pics of the back panel behind the motherboard, I'm just feeling a little overwhelmed with all the cables back there. I will swing by the store and grab some zipties before I get home.
 
In a nutshell just make sure to have the cable exit through the grommet closest to the port you need to plug into. Pretty much common sense. Like others have aid your case will make it easy for you.
 
haven't had a hell of a lot of time to work on this; one thing I have learned is that zipties are your friend and you can never have enough. Hoping to have pics ready this weekend as well as horror pics of my previous setup. :D
 
I have never understood why anyone needs a case that big...you could fit like 3 computers in there.
 
Okay so OP here, sorry it took so goddamn long to get my shit together. Here is my old case:

there are some excess cords hanging out, but they are my PCI E Power cords for when I get new graphics. (bought an ultra cheap passive cooled temporary card)
 
and a side note on the temperatures: it is currently 33 C outside. I am cheap and don't use AC :cool:
 
I really hope you don't let your 800D get as dusty as your old case...that would make me sad.
