The internet has hit a new low today, selling fake “friends” to MySpace users. To make matters worse, the pictures used by the company selling the fake friends are pictures of models that did not give their permission to be used on the fake friends site.

Enter FakeYourSpace.com, a business founded by Brant Walker, which offered users of MySpace.com and similar sites a way to enhance their page with photographs and comments from hired "friends"--mainly attractive models--for 99 cents a month each.

It kinda makes me sick to hear this. Some people have such nerve.

That's nuts. I wonder how much money they are making doing this. I do know there are programs out there that mass msg friend requests to people.. but this even worse.

(at least all the girls on my page are real. hehe)

Imagine being busted with fake friends on your MySpace? For only $0.99 a month you too can be the biggest loser on the planet. I wonder if there is a refund policy?

My goal? To have a MySpace account with 0 friends...forever.

+1. I must be one of the last human beings on the planet who has no Myspace profile, nor wants one.

+1 I'm in that group too. I never (and still don't) see the appeal of having a Myspace page. It always looked like a waste of time to me. If I want to keep in touch with my friends I use something called a telephone or, at the very least, AIM.

Dude, I should do that... so I can be the myspace king.... because I'm cool.

lol, these people are sad

That's a pretty good goal. I should start a company: "Clean Your Space!" or "CYS". I would personally eliminate all your friends for you for a 1 time fee and keep your space clean for 99c/month.

I just like reading my MySpace profile and seeing

"You have 0 friends"

Now that the word is out, you can bet your manboobs that people will be adding you :D

Everytime I begin to think that I have absolutely no life, somebody comes out of the woodwork with even less of a life than I have. People like these are the highlight of my life! :D

I use Myspace to find my friends, and keep in contact. I was able to meet up with tons of people that live in far corner of the country and communicate with them. It seems like you kind of defeat the point of having this social network by filling it with non-people. I don't judge people on how many friends they have. I only look to see if we have an mutual acquaintances that I haven't talked to in a while.

In short, people are silly.

If there are any hot 14 year old girls from fakeyourspace.com, I'M SOLD!

Hahaha! Sounds like something a good friend of mine would say...

Needless to say... people will go to any lengths to make profit... Isn't buying items in an online video game enough for your ego? Now you must use that cash to buy imaginary friends to replace the friends you lost while playing those games as well? Hell, whats next? For $1.99 a month you can have a fake model wife (AKA Lumberjack Bearded Male who is Good at Role playing) who has their own myspace linked to yours and professional photo editing skills to add the same damn shot of some model with you in your lonely room as you play some game like WoW?

That's really freaking lame. I have a myspace profile, and everyone on there is someone I normally hang out, or used to know and I got back in touch with them. I don't give a crap how many friends I have, it's just a fun communication tool. I think I may go back to having a private profile as well, and cator more to my friends.

omg the internet has hit a new low :(
jebus are people that lonely that they need to buy fake myspace friends.... Sad indeed.
