So something I've wondered about for a while on the pc front. Which companies are more US based vs non-US?
I know Crucial and Mushkin on the memory front, but past that I'm clueless.

Video cards, hard drive, PSUs, etc.

I don't know if anyone else cares, but I prefer to do so when I'm choosing between similar quality and price

Edit: It looks like Intel has most of its fabs in the US but AMD/ GF is not in the USA until their NY plant comes online.

Yeah, I originally had just Intel, but then I thought that AMD doesn't really own GF, so really all they have is a chip design studio, so I added AMD to keep from getting a bunch of angry "what about AMD" posts.

What exactly do you mean by that? Do you mean companies that actually have manufacturing here in the U.S or was just started up in the U.S? Or something else entirely?

My field isn't engineering, or network administration, it's economics. I just happen to be a computer nerd too.
Outsourcing high level manufacturing and research is deleterious to any country's economy. Things aren't in a perpetual state of stagnation because Bush and Obama don't know how to run things, it's partly because we're hollowing out useful industries and services like electrical and chemical engineering.

Fabs tend to be in Taiwan and the Philippines.

I think they're actually California-based (the products themselves are built in Taiwan and other asian counties).

Most things come out of a factory overseas. Though intel has a lot of fabs here in the USA, you can easily get an intel chip made somewhere in central america.

I once bought a Ford truck... proudly made in Mexico.
