Hello.

I decided to buy a second display, now I have iiyama e2201w-b1. Current display is good but the viewing angles could be better. :p

Most time I use the display for playing games rarely for web programming
PHP:
.
Was thinking about dell 2209wa but have heard some not so good opinions about its level of brightness and I'm afraid of the Input lag - my current display has 0 ms input lag.

Is IPS panel good for playing games?

Would that dell be a good choice?
BTW: Sorry for my english. :p

Yea - but I'm not only asking about that dell, I'm would like to get other displays recommended too. ;)

yeah, go TN for gaming. you might be regretting the IPS if gaming is your priority

I recommend the Acer V223-WBD 22" Widescreen TFT LCD Monitor .
This monitor has great clarity and color.

I don't truster Acer - would prefer the display form samsung, dell, hp or maybe iiyama, nec or eizo.

I would look at BenQ, Acer (but recently on this site heard about some eye-weariness/pain after extended use), or NEC. Sometimes if you get a deal on the others they're worth it. If you're interested in the best and newest, I know BenQ is releasing an LED monitor (or has already released one) but I'm having trouble finding any info on it.

The 2209WA has minimal, if any input lag. ToastyX tested it with a DVI splitter and it showed 0 lag. This is the best way to test, and more accurate than input lag testing in clone mode often done elsewhere.

I don't get the concerns about brightness. Mine was able to go down to a very low brightness as well.

It also has the ability to do 75hz, which improves responsiveness. I would recommend it as being the best gaming screen at the 22" size outside of the LG L227WTG and the 120hz screen from Samsung (2233RZ).

I would say the only two caveats are the potential white issue where it's more blue on the left and more pink on the right when showing whites, and the white shimmer on blacks. Otherwise it can't be beat as a good gaming monitor with good viewing angles at 22".
