Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I can get a i5-2500k for $200 shipped at ncix. Should I wait for Ivy Bridge and hope for price drops? I dont need to build the desktop for another 2 months.
Most likely prices will not drop as the new chips will be price gouged for a bit. Intel will have halted production on older tech and people will be buying them up. Fry's might sell some cheap like they did with 775 quad cores to get rid of inventory. By then Haswell would be out most likely.
Generally you won't see price drops when Intel releases new line of CPUs. Intel generally releases CPUs at or near the price point of their older CPUs. As such, there's a good chance there's gonna be an IB CPU around the $220 price point in April.
