Hello Everyone ,I want to Build a new Desktop. I am not updated with all the new stuff, so im a bit lost. Any help suggestion are appreciated. Thank you!:D

1) What will you be doing with this PC?

I want to build it for gaming. (mainly Bad Company 2)

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?

$300 yes tax and shipping included

3) Where do you live?

North Lauderdale, Florida

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget?

Motherboard,CPU ,RAM, if budget permits a new HDD.

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing?

-OCZ Stealth Stream 600W power supply
- Antec Nine Hundred case
- BFG 8800GT
- Razer Barracuda Sound Card
- WD 200gb HDD

6) Will you be overclocking?

I would like to, but not necessary.

7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?

I have an Envision 19 inch lcd.

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?

within the next month.

9) What features do you need in a motherboard?

I want SLI so in the future i can buy another 8800gt.

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? 32bit or 64bit?

Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.

How long would it be till you're able to afford the next round of upgrades? Or can you up your current budget by $50?

Oh and 8800GT SLI is a very very poor idea for a 19" monitor. Not to mention a poor idea to do so using a so-so quality OCZ PSU only capable of 500W under the most ideal conditions.

Oh really why is 19 inch not good? i don't know much about SLI. This is my upgrade, so i wont upgrade for long. Yes i can go up $50 , and buying a HDD is not really necessary. Im mostly concerned with the mobo/cpu/ram.

How long have you had that StealthXStream PSU for?

You may want to consider selling the 8800GT and picking up a 5670 or 5770 in its place. (Then again, that may also require you to up your budget a bit. That, or try to find one used.)

Because you won't see an appreciable difference between 8800GT SLI and 8800GT that'll justify the cost of a second $70 8800GT, the higher cost of a motherboard, and the higher cost of a PSU capable of actually support 8800GT SLI (your current PSU is too low quality to do that).

Well a new HDD is necessary due to the huge advancements in HDD speed in the past four years. You could have a $5000 system and it still would feel as fast as a $100 Pentium 4 system if you cripple it with an old SATA HDD. So in other words, definitely get a new HDD. It's gonna make a difference.

Anyway, with that extra $50, here's what I recommend:
$131 - AMD Phenom II X4 925 CPU
$68 - Asus M4A78LT-M LE AM3 AMD 780L mATX Motherboard
$96 - GeIL GV34GB1333C9DC 2 x 2GB DDR3 1333 RAM
$56 - Western Digital WD5000AAKS 500GB 7200RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
---
Total: $351 shipped.

BFBC2 is both CPU and GPU heavy so definitely consider a GPU as well as PSU upgrade in your next round of upgrades. Yes even the mighty 8800GT can barely handly BFBC2 at 1440x900 on medium settings. Any way, a quad-core CPU is pretty much a requirement for BFBC2 as well as a fast HDD hence why I asked for a $50 increase in the budget.

Disregard my earlier post. My ideas would involve you spending more money than what you may be willing to spend.

Dam i thought my 8800gt was still good now days hahah. What is a good video card then, that is a good upgrade from the 8800gt but not too expensive?

I should amend my statement: The 8800GT is decent enough for BFBC2 at 1440x900 at medium settings if you can pair it with a quad-core CPU. I only have a dual-core CPU so that's my frame of reference. I recommend doing the CPU + mobo + RAM + HDD upgrade first, see if the 8800GT's performance is acceptable to you. If it isn't, get the XFX HD 5770 + new PSU (Corsair 400CX)
