So, I want my Eheim 1260 to fire up on DC power on... I've seen some of the AC relays you can buy, but I'd rather just build one myself. Does anyone have some circuit layouts to do it?

gah there is a Vellerman kit thats perfect like $8 bucks little board, relay, term blocks, freaking perfect. Now to find the old link I had, used one in my "old school" system werks great, power supply fires up and gives +12 to the little board and the relay sends AC to my pump, it even fit inside my power supply so I could tap the ac off of the AC for the supply and then ran a short piece of an extension cord (nice and thick and orange and round so there was no way I would ever forget it had AC in it) to the pump.

here ya go, price gone up a bit but I assure you its exactly what you want. +12 in and the AC goes to the pump, all nice little screw term blocks for your hookups too.

Pic only shows the little pcb but all needed parts come with it, took about 10 min being carefull to put it together once the solder iron was hot, could have done it in 5 min if I had been sober.

Was Quick Kit not Velleman.
