Ok i'll show my list but I can already hear, thats overkill ;) So when you tell me to get a lesser item,i have a question.Seems like anyone that says they want to do an 17 3820 x79 mobo, the majority says it's unnecessary. So who does benefit from the top of the line stuff that no one seems to recommend? This boggles my mind because it's like putting a Ford Taurus next to a Porsche and saying,go with the Taurus when I can afford either one,(not really, just sayin!:D)

Well pretty much it comes down to a few main reasons:
- If you're going to go with the socket 2011 platform, you must at least get and need the six-core $600 i7 3930K. The i7 3820 performs almost the same as the regular Core i7 2600K and 3770K. So if you want a real CPU upgrade over current quad-core Intels, you pretty much have to go with the i7 3930K.
- Your usage must requires more than 32GB of RAM as thats the max limits of the socket 1155 platform. If your usage adds up to less than 32GB of RAM, no point in going with socket 2011.
- So basically the kind of use where a six-core Intel CPU + 32GB or more of RAM generally include extensive video, 3D, or audio editing/rendering, virtualization work, and other heavily multi-threaded applications.

If you still have leftover cash, go for the 4GB version.

What's the model number of this RAM set?

Diablotek UL Series PSUL775 775W Power Supply
Really shitty PSU. I recommend getting the Corsair TX650 V2 650W PSU instead.

Since you are overclocking, no need at all to get the 2600k processor. You'll be better off with an SB i7 processor as well, but not a 2011. Basically that setup isn't for the "enthusiasts" who is looking to build a daily commuter to and from work. Granted comparing a custom built "high end" enthusiasts system would be more like the Porsche, while the Taurus (Just not the SHO) would be more like a manufactured system from like Dell or HP. While the 2011 setup would be more comparable to a Ferrari. Not something you'd necessarily want to daily. Also with a budget of $2000, a 2560X1440 worth buying is going to take up more than 25% of that budget plus a 680 is going to take another 20% of that budget, thus you can't really afford the "high end" CPUs of the 2011, which is where it then becomes worth it to go that route. The lower end processors on the 2011 aren't that much faster than the higher end 1155 processors. Thus their costs aren't really best bang for the buck when you can spend that money else where.

Also that Caviar Black HDD is slower than the HGST 7k1000.d 1TB drive and usually costs more.

Also do note that Windows 7 Home Premium has a software cap of 16GB max memory, so if you'd want more memory than 16GB you'll need at least Professional.

That's also not that great of a case, for the price. When I get back on my normal computer I'll spec you out a build unless someone else does it before I do and give you one of Danny's case lists.

Danny's quick. lol

Ok sounds great, thanks for all the Info.Looking forward to an alternate build ideas.I understand a little more about the upper processors now.
When I scout around newegg,I try to look at the reviews, then google the items and get more reviews from different areas.I know to take them with a grain of salt,I just try to get a feel for overall satisfaction. This was the main reason for choosing that case and psu.
Model number on that ram is F3-12800CL9Q-16GBRL

Also that Caviar Black HDD is slower than the HGST 7k1000.d 1TB drive and usually costs more.

HGST 7k1000.d 1TB drive? Have you read the reviews on that drive,a whole lot of failures going on there.Like I said,I try to take reviews wth a grain of salt but, that has a lot of overwhelmingly bad reviews

I did the same thing (on reviews of HGST 7K)............ went w/ the WD Black due to Reviews and the better/longer Warranty
